Thread: Walls in Miners
could you also post a list what influences it? like storage? or does that only has importance for storage?
greetz
Walls can be made of lowest quality resources, they have no effect on ER. The only things that affect ER are the particular mechanism used (mining unit, drill pump, manuf mech etc) which should be made with high SR, HR, UT resources (preferably over 900 in each) and should be experimented as high as possible, and the resources used in final build (metals, ore, chems) which should also have high stats on these 3. The exception here being chem which is even better if it has NONE of these stats listed (eg lub oil) as not present in the resource means it doesn't count AGAINST for the ER.
the items with no stats are of no importance. Soyou can use low quality ore and metal for structural modules and walls as they have no stats, similarly for storage modules and generators. all bulk low quality materials.
The mining/drilling/harvesting units have stats so need good materials (note manufacturing modules do not have stats!)
in the final build all items need stats (as they do for the stated modules!) so good ore and good metal and as stated a chemical with no stats such as lube oil is best even if the schematic says its for hoses! as it has no detrimental effect.
I use twosets of materialslow quality bulk for walls, gens and storage, and a goodquaity (UT SR & HR)for the modules and final build. This is the only way to be profitable when making heavies!
So what does this mean to the architect? well I dont buy expensive high quality materials for high prices as i only use small amounts that I am able to get for myself. but I do buy low quality bulk. I advise my suppliers to harvest the higest percentage available and to ignore quality. it often makes no difference to them as they make the same amount of cash, of course this works in reverse I could buy the high quality and harvest the bulk, but I prefer to have two suppliers forore and one for metal, and the rest I can get myself.
