Hello,
How do you position things exactly in a house? I know about /rotate and /move, but those are rather simple. I have been to homes with items on top of tables, stuff on walls, etc. Can any item be placed above the floor on a table? If so, how? What other commands are available?

Those are about the only commands you can use. The people that have things off the ground basically drop them on a staircase at the height they want and then move them around the room.

I think the Devs are working on a vertical move possibly but who knows when that will arrive.
