Thread: Rate 14 Fusions require high-end resources?

Hi gang. Mr. Holocron has informed me that I'm going to become an Architect soon. Before you get mad at me, I'll inform you that I plan to take my time about it, and enjoy my first Holo profession (Musician) for a while, and I plan to do the same for Architect.

Anyway, during my tenure as a master Architect, I'd like to make a bunch of fusion gens and heavy minerals, and I'd like to get ready by starting to collect the resources now.

So my question is this: With the experimentation on Fusions being nerfed to rate 14, does it matter what quality of resources you use, or do you actually need to use good ones to get up to 14?

Ber 14's fusionsare acheived by 2 steps:

1) Ore Mining Unit experimented at 90% and up.

2) Metal (steel preferbly) that has a Unit Toughness, Shock and Heat of 900+ to go into the final assembly of the fusion.

No need to experiment on the final assembly since you can't experiment the BER rate. With just these 2 steps, you get a BER 14 automatically. But you have to have these 2 steps or else you get a lower BER rate. I've used a 90% OreMining Unit with so so quality metal and got BER's of 11to 13 rates.

Okay, two questions then

  1. What quality of materials will I need to get an Ore Mining Unit up to 90%, and

  2. Are you saying that all 3 of the stats for the steel in the final unit need to be 900+ or is it (2*UT + SR + HR)/4 > 900?

Extraction rates on subcomponents for harvestors such as the Ore Mining Unit, Light Ore Mining unit, Heavy Harvesting unit, etc.. are dependant upon three things: Unit Toughness, Shock, and Heat. For you to get the max BER rate on the subs, not the harvestor, is to have a metal that is 900+ in ALL THREE stats or at least 2 of the three (if 2 of the three, make sure one is Unit toughness since it takes up 50% of the experimentation and Shock and Heat are 25% each). You've reached the max when your experimentation result is 90% and above. In some cases 85% to 90% if your using an extremely fine metal.

With your harvesting subcomponet has reaching this mark, use the same 900+ Shock/UT/Heat metal on the final essembly and experiment the harvestor up to it's max BER. You will only hit the max BER following these steps. If you use good resources on the sub and crap resources on the harvestor, you won't get the max BER even though your mining sub is experimented very high. Make sure your good resource is the metal, not the ore that's required in some or the other stuff like chemical. The metals take up for more quantities in harvestors and will over power anything like a crappy ore or chemical used.

As for the resources, use preferbly steel or iron since I have only seen these two, in my experience as an arch, that has had a UT/Shock/Heat of 900+. You will more than likely find this in steel, it is more frequent to have these three stats at this rate and steel is asked for specifically in some harvestors and mining sub components. In your future experience as an arch, always aim for using good steel when your experimenting.
