Hello I am interested to know some info about the possiblity of having walls in the Town/Fort I have made a post in the Arcitect forum aswell as here, as I aim to conquer 2 problems with this.

The Fort which I am currently Mayor at is a Hense the name a Fort called Fort xXx a military base with the aim of being a large Imperial base run by players not npc.

I would like to start placeing walls to create a perimiter for the Fort and I do not want to use peoples house to create blockades and I do not wish to put my citizens at risk like that, as not all want to be in PvP.

Walls is a good way to direct the flow of traffic or the ways people visiting your town/city/base can take. Plus if we can create hedges or walls like in Theed it may help to stop people flying in odd places and such and make it so you! know where they can come from places like Empora on shadowfire would benifit from this as they have a base in their city if they can direct the flow of where people could enter it would make it a lot easier to defend and a lot harder to attack.

I do not know what types of wall can be made idealy for my case the strong concrete walls we get at HQ's.

What I like to know is can walls be placed on their own?

Can walls be even be placed as civic structures or not?

What type of walls can be made?

Has any other Mayor tried or wanted the same but not to use peoples houses?

if not I like to suggest this

so plink if your reading this perhaps you can put a word in.

Thank you.

There would need to be a major change in city lot allocation for this to be feasable.

Giving architects the ability to make statues, gardens, streetlights and civic structures and then making something like a street light take up 1 city lot is too ridiculous to be true.

All the town items did for the profession was to make it easier for holo grinders to master it (statues) i would presume most master arcs wont bother making let alone selling the civic items simply because there is an extremely limited market, with the towns own arcs generally making the items.

Walls would be nice for defensive purposes but are counter productive in my opinion to the growth of a city. The city hall may have reached its maximum size but the city itself may grow further outward, following whatever city layout you use. Walls serve to box it in.

That being said, if a city has a factional base inside its borders the walls could be used around it.

Our Fort

is a Imperial military base, by placeing 1 HQ down we already got what we would have to wait until rank 3, banks, insurance terminals mission terminals imp mission terminals. I arn't going to bother placeing most of the city structures

as we have 4 HQ's at Present and aim to have 18 placed, we do have plenty of room for the lots of Wars. Just need to learn to ration with what u want and what u need...

maybe walls could be in a preshape so u can have a C shape with 5 walls in a C shape. Or something like that...

What resources would it or should it take to build walls if they were to build...

One major problem is the abuse that could be caused with this. A faction-aligned city under attack could wall in enemies as they clone as a method of greifing

Yes the same point was raised in the politions Thread.

Also a suggest that you have a set limit of how many walls you could place next to each other.

or Idealy make all the buildings have the ability to add on a certain number of walls attached to the buildings. Sort of like Add-ons etc.

and make them like the faction buildings and the city hall once placed thats it it can't be redeed just destroyed. like with the scanners once they are down thats it no changing ur mind,
