The other night I was making a schematic for a Deep Crust Harvester. I was using a 93% Turbo Fluidic component and resources that would allow for 96% experimented deep crust harv. Maleability of resources was not great but not bad either. I have +90 to assembly and +90 to experiementation since I am not a master but I do have construction 4. Anyhow I was surprised to see a 'success' during assembly. I wasn't able to get a BER-13 of course with only 9 experiment points so I did it again and got a 'moderate success'. Once again I could not get a BER-13 so I did it again and got a 'good success'. Now what struck me as odd was that I normally see great successes during assembly. I always see great successes during experimentation so why on earth did I get a success, moderate success, and good success each time I tried to assemble this Deep Crust. I had resources to allow a 96% experimented deep crust, used a 93% turbo fluidic unit. What is going on here? I was getting great successes during experimentation so it wasn't the maleability. Does anyone know what affects the Assembly result? What determines whether it is a great assemble or a success assembly?

Everything determined the assembly success.
-crafting tool
-crafting station
-resources (UT, SR,HT)
-component quality
-Structure Assembly skill
I am a master and I usually get amazing or great success. I haven't seen anything below great success in ages.
BTW, when making components that require chemical, you have to use lubricating oil, because it doesn't have UT. HR, SR, and therefore takes on the property of steel, and that way you can get 95% - 98% components. Also do the same on final assembly, use lubricating oil, it gives you a better initial %, despite your good successes, and also stretches the experimentation posibility line to maximum.

Are you sure?
I thought if a component didn't contain the attribute it needed it was like having a zero point attribute?
If you're right, I'll be dipped in ....

If a resource doesn't have an attribute, it is treated as a "null" rather than as a "zero" when calculating all the values. That is, it is NOT averaged in at all.

yes, lube oil is great. ![]()
What Vladk wrote is correct. Tools, crafting station, materials all determine what your combine will be. But, there is also randomness in the sucess rates that don't seem to have anything to do with anything.
I usually make all of my final products by hand. Using the same materials I will get a range of sucesses from crit to amazing. Mostly I get great sucesses.
Just remember that thereare some unknown issue's thathave an affect.

Ok so I was using a 14.79 crafting tool, a 43.68 crafting station, 960+ HT/UT/SR rating resource ingrediants, a 93% turbo fluidic component, and non-experimented walls. I have +90 assembly skill. So how on earth did I get a 'success', 'moderate success', and 'good success' on assembly. I think there could be a bug here for the Deep Crusts considering the Turbo Fluidics were just added it wouldn't surprise me.
