Cool thanks for clearing that up for me!

The higher the PE rating, the longer it will last for

I am having some problems finding the proper power to run my Harvesters (a mixture of Heavy And Medium). I was under the impression that any sort of fuel would work, however I can only seem to get Wind Power to work with them.

I currently trying to use Liquid Petrochem Fuel with it and it isn't working. I have also tried Solid Petrochem Fuel with the same results.

Do harvesters require a specific type of fuel?

Thanks!

Harvesters use only one of three types of fuel.

  • Wind Power - From a wind Generator

  • Solar Power - From a Solar Generator

  • Radioactive Power - from Radioactive Minerals - mined either via Fusion Power Generator or mineral mining harvesters.

All other types of fuel are only useful in recipes requiring Chemicals.

Actually the higher the PE value above 500, the more "units" of available power you will have.

In other words:

Both wind and solar generators power has a PE of 500, never more, never less. This is base and gives you 1:1 for power.

With a fusion generator, the quantity you harvest vs the quantity of fuel avaiable is tied into PE and the class of the radioactive. I have noticed that Class I comes in around 500-600, and scales up to class 7 above 950.

Take the PE of the Radioactive, divide by 500 and multiply that by the quantity of the raw resource, and this will give you the amount or "actual" energy you have. (Check this in the add power dialog)

750 PE would give you about 1/2 more power so if you had 100 raw units you would have150 units of power available for your harvesters. (750/500 * 100 = 150)

To take advantage of the PE above 500 you'll need to turn your harvester off and back on (or on twice if the resource is gone) to get this to display correctly in the harvester status menu.

They fixed that bug with Publis 6. Now they just need to fix the animation.
