"7000?!? i could almost buy my own ship with that"-Obi-wan

in-game Obi could almost buy a nice couch!

we need missions to give out less money, more money sinks and a limited amount of credits. the devs need to create a credit cycle. The mission terminals give out credits, taxes and other money sinksgive money back to mission terminals. right now there is just more and more and more and more money on the market, as a result prices are just going up and up and up and up. it is pretty basic economics if you think about it.

so lets start making a list of money sinks there could be:

income taxes-would be taken off of mission terminal earnings.

Gambling-this is already ingame but it needs to bigger. we need to see casinos, not just a few tables in cantinas on Tat.

Sales taxes-would be taken off of item sales.

ummmm... Why is this on the Chef forums?

There is no way to base the player economy on the movies.

What the hell is your problem? This isn't Socialist Wimp Galaxies. If the number of credits bother you so much, start thinking of them as "pennies" rather than "dollars".Inflation is a normal part of economies, within reason. Economic growth is almost always accompanied by a modest degree of inflation. Quit your whining and go run some missions.

I agree with the taxes and I think that's what was encouraged with Player Cities, though a lot of cities don't tax. As far as prices, I think they've dropped. When people laugh at paying 100k for a Heavy Harvester....they need to make one. Advanced Droids are going for 15k. And that quote from Star Wars I'm sure wasn't referring to a X-Wing Fighter.

The problem with the economy is that players don't want to use one basic unified system. Maybe if they got charged more, that would fix their prices. On the other hand whereas Droid Engineers and Architects are starting to get the shaft, professions like Armorsmith and Weaponsmith greatly overcharge. Let's face it, a full suit of Composite armor is not worth over 300k.

The slots and tables that were introduced a few months ago in hotels were a good idea. But the simple system messages you observed that were supposed to simulate slots rolling and roullette tables spinning were a HUGE disappointment.

Gambling in casinos, while inherantly is a potential bad habit if not checked, is a booming business in RL because of the bling-bling and the atmosphere.

The current system is tepid at best and would not hold the attention of a 3 year old in a room full of out of date toys.

A revamp down the line of the current system would be most desirable. Also Player Casinos that only a Merchant can place in a player city would be interesting. There are Merchants out there with millions sitting in the bank that would be best used if to maintain a casino. Thus giving the not so well off a chance to strike it rich.

Also a Galactic Lottery might be a good idea. One could buy a ticket or tickets at the local bazaar. At the end of the week the server runs some random numbers and compares them to tickets bought. Bingo! you just won 1 million credits!! That would be a very desirable system message to get.
