If i build the novice architect factory, the equipment factory-- can I mass produce synthetic cloth? (its the basic item that novice armorcrafters need), or do I need the clothing and wearables factory?

What items can you produce with the equipment factory?

Equipment factories produce weapons, droids, and 'generic' items.

You'll need a wearables factory for synthetic cloth.

Heya all, I posted a while back asking what factory I needed to manufacture supplies like laser knives and clamps and someone told me I neededan equipment factory. Well, I finally got around to getting one only when i access it, it says I don't have a draft schematic usable with this factory. I can't even make manufacturing schematics for laser knives and clamps. What's the deal? What am I doing wrong? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I'm not really familiar with factories myself, I just got one for spices. I'll see if I can go through the whole process: First get a weapon, droid, and general crafting kit and find a crafting station of the same name. Create your laser knife or molecular clamp or whatever it is, and it will give you thechoice to experiment, create a prototype, and create a schematic. Choose schematic. Now make sure you have enough of the same resources you used in the schematic for the factory. For example, a FAN takes 40copper I believe(at least thats what I used), so if you want to make 100 FANs make sure you have 4000 copper. 40 x 100. Then take your schematic to the factory and upload it. Then load your resources into the factory. Then turn it on. These options are all in the options category on the factory radial menu.

If anyone else reads this please correct any mistakes I may have made.

last bit of the FAQ explianes factory use. it is written for spice but just insert the word clamp everywhere it says muon nad you'll be fine.

I know the process for getting manufacturing schematics and I also know how to use factories. I figured that out a long while back when I was a master medic. My issue is figuring out what I need to make anything other than spice (spice is easy since it's food... food and chem factory, crafting station, and crafting tool). I don't have alot of credits to throw around so I can't afford to learn by trial and error but since I was told once I needed an equipment factory, that's what I got. Unfortunately, the game is telling me I can't use the equipment factory and I can't make a manufacturing schematic with my weapon, droid, and general item crafting tool while standing next to a public weapon, droid, and general item crafting station nor while standing next to my droid with a weapon, droid, and general item manufacturing station module installed. So my question is, am I totally wrong on what I need to manufacture everything other than spice or am I totally bugged because it should be working?

I think the problem may be that you are using a "Generic" crafting tool

For spices schem's you will need a "Food + Chemical" crafting tool

For Knives and Clamps schem's you will need a "Weapon + General item" crafting tool

If changing the crafting tool doesnt help you may want to try again after re-logging

Also check to make sure that you havent used up all of your lots

You know, that may be the case. I could have swore I was using a weapon, droid, and general item crafting tool but come to think of it, i'm not too sure. I'll check and let you know.

Well, I'm officially an idiot comparable to those guys who star in Jackass... I was using a generic crafting tool instead of a general tool like I thought. Can someone point me to a tailor who can craft me a dunce hat?

Now that I have a general item crafting tool the equipment factory isn't telling me I can't use it anymore. God I hate it when I make a complete moron of myself... Thanks for all the help everyone and sorry I polluted your forum with such a stupid post =/
