I was thinking about a weaponsmith/armorsmith. I found with a character generater that I could master ws and as and merchant if I didn't persue the clothing/food tree. Is master artisan important for what I want to be? Or should I get master artisan and not get all of merchant. What in merchant is important?

Master artisan is useful but not absolutely necessary for architect. It comes in really handy for making
high quality crafting stations. Also the parts are used for some furniture items and building parts. But if you can get crates of parts from another master artisan and don't plan on making crafing stations then you'll do fine without it.

Merchant is pretty handy for putting up NPC merchants and then getting your vendor(s) on the planetary map. 18 skill points would get you merchant with the ability to list your vendor on planetary map. You also need merchant if you want to use a merchant tent.

I agree with Pawlin, but you can also advertise in the trade forums and skip merchant. I hate to be in the middle of building something then to have to go out and find a Master Artisan with the right stuff. I seem to sell just fine by advertising on the trade forum.

if u want cash dont become architect lol

become weaponsmith or doctor or after this patch maybe chef. then u will get better sales with a reasonable uber cpu payment. plus your wares will expire and ppl will buy new.

merchant u only need vendors if u ask me depending how many u wish it would be enough to go business 3 in artisan for 1 vendor which is ugly but doing the job. your decision how many u need or what kinds
