Rather a n00b question, I know, but it's something I've never really known...

Certain things can only be done at a declared res, like calling faction pets, or pets will just near your house, not actually inside it..... It's purpose will also be used in player cities once they are started, to gain the benifits of a player city you must be a resident of the player city, and to be a resident of the player city your declared res... must be with-in the city limits, yes this means you pay taxes, but hey who knows, the towns shuttle port might be your next door neighbor hehe... in any case as of right now there isn't much use for it other than it displays in your character info, and the add feature of not having to make a camp, or go in the house to call your pets/troops if there are more benifets to this then I am not aware of them...... But it was a perfectly good question, I bet alot of people dont know what it does or means......
