Hi, I'm newish to architect. I just made some crafting stations with 41.50 functionality rating. Is this any good? What kinda price could I sell them for on Intrepid?

My understanding is that +50 is the max... So, yes, quite good - Make sure you get your money out of them. I have sold 43.xx in the past for about 35k each... And with lots and lots of new buildings going up because of cities, you should have no problem liquidating these.

actually... +45 is the max... so that station is rather good.
Price does vary by server tho... but you should be able to get 40k no problem... maybe even higher.
I myself sell 2 models of stations on my server...
A 42.9 model goes for 40k
and my 43.3 model goes for 60k
but that's just me on Tarquinas...
Again, price them according to how hard you worked on em... if they are the best, they will definately sell.

So has it ever been determined that functunality ratings have any effect while crafting?

No, there is no conclusive proof that functionality does anything.
I sell my stations for 500 cr/WHOLE number of functionality.

Wrong.... Before i used to get fatals all the time .. then i got 6 structure crafting tools with a 14.38eef and 2 stations with 19.33 eff and the falat rates dropped! impressively

watkinse..
No, wrong to you...
I've got 14.98 crafting tools and 43+ stations..and my fail rate is no different now than it is if i'm in front of a public crafting station or an old station with functionality -13.
Tell you what...run a test...we'll even make it a small one, though the smaller the test, the more inconclusive the results..
Get Master Artisan...make 100...let's say...Generic Crafting tools using your good tools and your good station. Use all the same materials and do this at a time when there is little lag on the server.
now, Take the same tools and the same materials and trot into a deserted town...Deja Peak might do..do this during a low lag period. make 100 Generic Crafting tools in front of a Public Crafting station and post your results here.

Using 13.99 tools and a 40.3 station, I had 13 crit fails in a row. Yes, THIRTEEN crit fails on either the initial assembly, final assembly, or experimentation. Don't tell me better tools made a clear difference.

Well, I did notice a few odd things...
First...
Stations don't seem to have as much of an impact on some artisan items...
example: I crit fail experiments on CDEF weapons a lot more than I would on any architect item... and this is as a human. I still can't believe I had to make 3 CDEF rifles to max out the damage on one.
The stations appear to benefeit advanced professions quite clearly, as the only claims I've seen so far are all of "artisan" items.
Now, stations will not get rid of crit fails...
But on non-crit experiments, they do raise the average success value. I myself usually only see one of 3 results... crit, great, and amazing, with about 90% being great.
Details: I use 14.82 tools, and 43.3 stations.
Now for the bad part:
On an experimentation crit fail(using 1 point), it harms my product by 2 points worth of experimentation. Yes, It takes me the next 2 points(at great success) to get my item back where it was.
I'm not sure if a lesser functionality station does this or not.
Does a bad station cause just as much experimentation damage on a crit fail? or do they have the formula for this bass ackwards, and great stations are being penalized?
I'm tempted to just make an aweful station and test it.
