Yes, they only take up one lot but only hold 75 items. I made a few of these on accident after the patch for our city.

This has been the case since release, or shortly thereafter. They rock for shops, though the new merchant tent is pretty cool if you have Efficiency IV.

This has been the case for months now. Even the SOE Real Estate Guide (one of their friday features) pointed out it was a one-lot wonder.
