I hit novice Architect today. I went from Novice Artisan to Novice Architect in a few hours quite easily. Now I have gotten here because the combat side of the game has begun to bore me so I am looking to foray into the economics of the game for a while. I am dreadfuly short on exp points as I have half of the Pistoleer tree done and half of the Combat Medic tree done.

Here is what I am looking for from the experienced Architects ... if there was one tree what woudl you recomend ? I was thinking Installations might be a good choice for ongoing customers . . . thoughts ???

Thanks

Going up just Installations won't help you much. The reason being that people, when they buy harvesters, want the ones with the highest extraction rate. To get those you need to experiment upon them. Going up just the Installation tree would mean only your starting experimentation points. So yours will be less efficient than others.

Installations is the only tree that experimentation actually works on. So you could make houses, which experimentation has no effect on, just as well as any other Arch. Same with furniture or city buildings from the Construction line.

I'm going up Furniture to begin with, since those items are easily within my resource-income per day, and seem to sell fairly well on Bazaars. Also, Furniture has the +Assembly bonuses, which hopefully will save me a lot of grief when I start on the 30 Structure-3 Wall-Factory assembles later on.

For grind-xp, I'm doing Structre Blocks and Walls and storing them in a big heap in my house for when the time comes. I did try making a few houses, but after a few hours shouting outside Theed spaceport, I'd still not sold any. I suspect everyone has a lot of houses, but hardly any furniture in them.
