Thread: How do you keep your vendors stocked?

I've always heard about these great doctors who have the best buff packs, wound packs, stims, and cure state packs that are always stocked but I have no idea how they do it. I gathered tons of resources to put 2-3 pages worth of each type of item (buffs, stims, wound, cure state), and stockpiled enough resources to do another page of each but I can't keep up. After about a month and a half I found I had to use most of my stockpile to restock all my vendors to just above two pages. Whenever a good resource spawns I typically put 8+ harvesters on it, but waiting for decent spawns on a lot of resources have been tough lately. I do have contract hunters, and I do pay friends to borrow their lots when good resources spawn, but is there anything else I should be doing? Any help would be appreciated.

raise prices

Find a balance between the speed things come off the shelf and the speed at which you wish to restock. It is that simple.

If things are coming off your shelf faster than you wish to resock (sick of crafting, not enough resouces, not enough factories, etc) then it is time to raise prices. You may also want to vary the price of the same item. For example, lets say you sell buff packs for 15k each. Put a few up for 20k. That way if someone really wants the last one on your shelf you they can buy it and you can make a little extra cash.

If things are not coming off your shelf fast enough then

A. Advertise (trade forums, send emails, etc).

B. Change your location. Many players simple will not go out of their way to buy, even at lower prices.

C. If your getting feedback that your prices are the cuase of shoppers not buying then lower your price.

D. Place your vendor location in your schem ID. Then put some low cost items on the Bazaar (advertisments).

Also, make sure your using your factories wisely.

A. Try to make large factory runs of times when you can.

B. Make sure your factories are running when ever you log off.

C. If your making items where the number of subs do not mach (for example buff packs where the BEC are 3 and the CRDM are 2) then don't make a full schem of the CRDM. Only put in enough resouces to make 670 or so of the CRDM.

I cant make harvestors fast enough or get enough low grade ore?

It costs so much to make the walls...

With needing steel and other minerals I can't keep 10 harvs on ore.

What do you guys do?

Raise your prices. If you can't keep them in stock, that usually means you are priced cheaper than everyone else. If you can keep up witht he demand and you are making a profit, then leave the prices where they are...but if you can't keep up or are making minimal profit, raise your prices and things will slow to a point you are comfortable with.

Yes, raise your prices. Try raising 10% and see what happens in a week or two.

And you can also buy resources to help increase your production. You don't have to mine everything yourself. If you have trouble finding resources cheap enough to make a profit on your harvs then thats another sign that you need to raise your prices.

I do the following to bargin hunt for resources: I go to galaxy wide vendor search, then select the mineral resource, then put in 'ore' in the word filter, then set the minimum to 10k and the maximum to 150k. You might have to increase the max depending on your server. Usually this method you can find a bunch of stacks of our in the same location at the same price and it leads you to the miner with a large grind stock.

Good idea. I am not used to the bazarr having that feature. I quit for while back in sep last year and didn't have that back then.

Thanks for all the input from people.

Focus your production on one thing at a time if you have a small number of harvesters. Spreading out many at one time isn't going to be good for you.

I was doing some math last night about it.

Cheapest Low grade ore I can find on Bloodfin is 2.5 CPU

So I buy 200k and that = 500k.

I can make 16 structures with that and I sell them for 125k each.

That is 2mil. so 1.5 million profit...

I have found some vendors that sell for 110k for heavy Harvs.

So I need to raise my prices I guess. I had my vendor stocked the otherday with about 45 Harvs and they all sold out in one day. That was after about week of selling like 2-4 Harvestors period.

Some heavies on B-fin can and will sell for 120k+ if you look on bazaar and see where there is a shortfall. The bazaar is a very good tool to determine pricing. If doesnt hurt to test your pricing on your vendor, unless your desperate for quick cash that is..

2.5cpu for grind is a little high. I think you should be able to atleast find the 2 cpu mark. contact me in game if you need some sources.
