1-3 hours normally and it's not typically done during prime time but today's publish went in and suffered some problems so they have been working all day to get those resolved and have probably only just got to the point where they have the fixed code, passed it through a quick QA, identified the issues etc. Expect to see 99% of all patches and whatnot done at 4am PST.

"Prime time" depends on where you live...

As hard as I try to keep my posts productive, I can't resist: This is not unusual. Several of the major publishes over the past several months have had very rocky roll-outs. Whether this is due to inadequate testing, failure to correct bugs identified in testing, or simply the difference between a low-to-medium load test environment and a much heavier live server, I wouldn't be in a position to speculate.

Having said that, SOE has done a decent job of EVENTUALLY making up the inconvenience to players, in the form of bonus xp, or other nods towards reconciliation.

As Said depends where you live, Europe UKthe downtime today is noon until 8pm now that a big chunk of primetime. All patches are usuall done noon to 4pm, not fully primetime but a lot worst than 4am to 8am when normal workingpeople are still in bed.
