Thread: No more server Lot trades?

A friend told me something very interesting today. He said that in order to discourage Cross Server Lot trades, SOE is adding a new rule that you have to log intoyour character once every 30 days or all your lots will be erased.

So if i traded lots with someone, then I would have to log into their server once a month, or else their installations will be wiped clean. Can anyone verify this??

Thanks!

While I wouldn't necessarily be against what you describe, I don't believe that is what's happening. As I understand it, what is happening is that citizens of a player city who have not logged in within the past 30 days are delisted from the citizenship rolls, meaning that citieswill find it difficultto do server swaps to get bigger, or to maintain their size.

Unless they have added to that, it should have no effect on lot swaps.

Yes the only thing that I have seen to this nature is that a persons citizenship would be removed from a city if they had not logged in within a 6 week period

ah ic, so the whole not logging in would only affect citizenship and not harvesters, whew!

I second that motion.. static lot swaps are the best way to stay stocked as an architect without multiple accounts...

Furia, Kavala, Xana, Tarantella (Xana's alt, before NGE), all cancelled.(3 accts total)

ahh gotta love that rumour mill eh?

i had one guy try and tell me that if you dont log a char on for 6 weeks then that char is delited... who makes this garbage up?

as has been stated above, the ONLY thing that can happen if you do not log on a char is that you will lose residency in the house you have declared residency in after 6 weeks. the clock started ticking on this 6 week timer with the last major publish. the house will stay right where it is (as long as it has maint) and nothing will happen to your char. do people not read the build notes? or is it easyer to just make things up instead?

anyone says anything else then it is unfounded rumour, unles i see something posted by justg, thunderheart or blair i believe nothing.

and here we have yet another person that hears things yet doesnt read things....

from the last major publish notes we see this:

Citizens will now be removed from a city if they haven't been online for about 6 weeks.

you can read this here

http://starwarsgalaxies.station.sony.com/recent_updates.jsp?page=Recent%20Updates

which is the link from the main swg web page under the sub heading on the far left called "updates" then click "recent updates"

please people.... dont say "i heard this from my best friends younger sisters swimming coach..." take the 2 minutes it takes to look stuff up for yourself before trying to pass off bad information onto others as fact when it may not be fact.

have a think about that.

I read on another board that a mayor was sent an in-game system email that a "citizen was removed from the city's Citizen Rolls for being inactive for TWO weeks". This is not a rumor, but fact.

i will admit that it is a fact that you read this, but did it actually happen? unless you were there then how do you know? link please? if it did happen as you say then it was an isolated bug. i have several residents in my city that i know for a fact have not logged in for about a month (U.S Navy, have been at sea for a month) and they have not yet been removed.

The post is on the Test Center forum. It is a plea from a TC mayor to log on and be counted, because the period THAT IS ON TEST is TWO (2) weeks.

Never known a test-center person to raise this kind of ruckus for no good reason.

And we all know things that we see on Test Center that aren't working as they should (and are reported to the Devs) never make it to LIVE. Sorry I cried wolf.
