Thread: Arcihitect Apron? Is it worth it.
On it's own it has no value at all. in order to gain 1 extra experimentation point you need +10 to structure experimentation, the apron has +5, it also has +5 assembly, which is supposed to help you reduce crits, but again you need +10 before there is any effect. I would suggest that with the changes to experimentation the apron could be a good starting point to getting extra experimentation points, you will be able to augment this later with additional skill tapes to take you to +10 or above.
I would not really care to hazard a guess about the value here, there are 2 points to consider:
1. These are relatively rare at the moment, but becoming more common as more players do the theme park, more common should in theory mean cheaper.
2. The demand for these may increase if architects find that with the revamped experimentation coming in publish 7 they could benefit from an extra point or 2, more demand should mean more expensive.
You might find a better deal by buying the schematic and resources needed, these seem to work out cheaper, but I don't know what skills you need to be able to craft one.
I paid 1 million for the one I got, but I paid that because I wanted 1 in White, in the end I was ripped off because the one I had delivered was Brown. On that note if any archs on Bria reading this have a White architect apron they wouldn't mind swapping for a Brown one please contact me to discuss terms, I have advertised on the Trade forum, but as this is an Arch specific item I hope y'all don't mind me asking here.
So, hopefully I have answered you and got a plug in for my apron at the same time ![]()
Does the assembly skill require 10 point increments to have an impact? I would have thought that it wouldn't. We know that experimentation points for experimentation are gained in increments of 1 point per 10 skill points. However structure assembly has no such effect that I'm aware of.
If you have 100 structure assembly skill then wouldn't a +5 structure assembly skill enhancemnt give you a straight 5% increase?
WithPublish 7, the extra 1 point in expermintation may well be worth the investment. I paid 350K for my apron, have a +5 Bandolear, and am looking to increase my total points into the +25 range (so I get 2 more points.)
Jury is still out on complexity and assembly tapes though. I haven't seen a need for either as a Master Architect. I still crit as often with or without the tapes/aprons.

I had assumed that since assembly goes up in +10 / +20 increments as you climb through Furniture I-IV that they would work as with experimentation and that whatever advantage there may be, now or at some time in the future, would also rely upon a min of +10 to affect it. But I have to admit it was a statement made with no evidence, I had simply always assumed it worked like that. If you say otherwise I bow to your greater knowledge (no sarcasm, I really mean that).
Just a small aside, I wore my apron the other day to craft some floras by hand, now admitedly I only have +5 as I am still looking out for decent skill tapes, but I certainly saw an immediate effect on my assembly. I usually crit about once a week and almost always get 'Great', well with my new aprn I critical failed 3 times in a row, fortunately this was on the combine, so I just tried again and again until it worked, but then on 3 harvesters I got 'good' or 'moderate' whilst experimenting. I have taken the apron off again, and now things are back to normal. I wonder what will happen when I get +10....
