Personal Harvesters, and sell them on the bazaar to recoup your money.

Do yourself a favor and set up all your available lots on ore now You'll need ALOT. Anyway if you use steel, ore, and aluminum and make Wind generators you will need approx:

14,630 Steel

3,080 Ore

2,310 Aluminum

To get novice, once you get that you need 600k Ore and 200k gemstone to Master it. But if you get this in advance like I did it will take you like an hour or two to get master

Actually, unless you also have gone up the Domestic Arts tree you won't be able to make good harvesters. Plus experimenting them will slow you down a lot.

Just get to Eng 3 and grind wind generators / mineral harvesters in practice mode straight up to Novice Architect.

To put together what Zen and Bandola have said...

If you've got plenty of money and/or if you have no domestic artisan skills then just grind windmills on practice mode.

Without domestic arts and good materials I wouldn't bother trying to sell them because without domestic arts you can't get high enough BER and the bazaar is usually flooded with low BER harvesters.

If money is tight at all and if you have domestic arts tree or plan on getting it then try and find some good steel with HR, SR and UT in the 900's and use that to make some BER 4 harvesters. You should be able to sell those for a reasonable profit on the bazaar. Make sure to put BER4 in the harvester title when making them, and they'll sell a lot easier that way.

FYI...Some extra info

I had Master Artisan before I got Novice Arch. And I had come into ALOT of free resources from a friend of a retiring Arch.

I built Swoops. It takes 21 Swoops to get to Novice Arch.

Right. There are two basic paths.

1. Novice Architect first and then Master Artisan later (if at all)

2. Master Artisan first and then Novice Architect.

These both start the same way:
A. get to Eng 3 crafting survey tools
B. grind wind generators until you get enough general crafting xp for your immedate goal (Novice Architect in path #1, Master Artisan in path #2).

IF someone is starting from scratch, I recommend path #1. It gets you to Novice Architect faster, with less outlay for resources. At that point you can work on architect xp in parallel with general crafting xp (if you want to get Master Artisan). You don't have to wait for surveying 4. You don't have to wait for apprentice points.

IF you are already a Master Artisan for other reasons, then *making* vehicles for sale is a quick way to get to Novice Architect. Remember that vehicles give the absolute *lowest* amount of XP per unit of resource in the game (AFAIK).

Sorry, I was a bit quick and didn't read properly. Of course you are right ZenDragon, you need dom arts skills to make any saleable personals.
