Thread: The Key to Being an Architect...I think

I think diversification is the key to being an architect. You simply can't expect to become a master in a couple of days. Unlike other profs that require very little resources, the architect class is really about hurry up and wait.

Personally I like running missions. I have about 30 extractors that I manage with lots loaned to me by friends who understand what I'm trying to do. I do "the curcuit" about twice a day paying maintenance on my extractors and building what I can. Then the rest of the time I run missions and make new friends who will later buy houses from me.

I am master artisan, novice architect, pistoleer, and almost master scout as well as a little dancing. My skills are spread out so I always have something to do and I always have a good time. To me, and this is only my humble opinion, trying to be only an architect would be a really boring way to game. Struggling all the time to meet resource needs would be too much like real work.

Granted I only have about 80k in the bank unlike some architects who might be working on the millionaire mark. However, I'm having fun and I'm useful to hunting parties in other ways. Missions are fun and they pay the upkeep on my harvesters. I refuse to simply sit around waiting for resources to build up so I can build something. I am still able to build several houses a week and will be a master in only three weeks of game time which is fine with me.
