Thread: NPSs to buy your items
Ok, here is soming that needs to be added to the game. Please make it so that you can sell items to NPCs. This would fix several issuse.
1:It would ballance the DE/ARC/ART skill tree with all the others.
2:It would give LOWER LVL crafting classes, a chance to make some real money
3:It would keep people from charging WAY too much for worthless items
For example I figured out that it would take 400 mse mouse droids to get to blueprints. Now who in the hell is gonna buy mouse droids! They ,along with allmost all the lower lvl droids, are completly USELESS!!!! So, why not have an NPC that would buy the **edit** things. This way your not just throwing them away. This wouldmake the DE class more ballanced. For example a gun fighter goes out and does destroy missions, not only does he get EXP. PTS. but he gets tones of cash. A DE on the other hand has to gather up TONES of materal, then sit and craft for hours, and then just throw away every thing he just made,,, Leaving him complety broke and needing to go buy TONES more material... HOW IS THIS FARE I ASK!!!
I disagree. One of this games primary strengths is the player run economy. Adding NPC vendors would ruin that. I hope there's never an NPC vendor added to the game beyond the current junk buying vendors (and I really wish the bounty hunter droid terminals were done away with so BH's had to buy their goods from actual Droid Engineers).
This is the first large scale online game I've played where a player can actually be a merchant (i.e. buy low, sell high) and the fact that purchase pricesare 100% dictated by supply, demand and the bargainers arts of persuasion without any meddling by the system (which we would have if NPC vendors bought and sold goods). So I say "please don't" to your request for NPC cash machines.
You can still make plenty of "free money" doing delivery missions.
I agree with Leafy, and the devs, on this. Unfortunately, as one of the few MMOs with a purely player run economy (Asheron's Call 2 was also I think), there are a lot of kinks to work out. But I am confident that at some point it will balance out and things will be good.
Right now it's too uncertain as people find their way around. And the unstabilizing influence of XP as reward/currency makes things worse.
