O.K. Much has been made by this community about the abysmal failure rates Architects are experiencing in assembly of our items. I think it is high time we take a somehwat scientific approach to narrowing down the cause and effect of these critical failures. So here is what I propose. In this thread we start tracking all the pertinent information for those who are having serious problems critically failing in their item assemblies. I want everyone with this problem to take one typical day of producing resources and keep track of how many times they critically fail on items, how many times they are successfull and what types of items they made.

Here is what I think we should keep track of here

1) Total number of items made for the day

2) Total number of critical failures in the day

3) What were the items you made?

4) What were the items you critically failed on?

5) What were the experimental values of the equipment you used ? Are all the optional components in your crafting station?

6) What galaxy are you in ? What planet is your shop on ? Nearest what city ?

7) What were the statisical values of the material resourcesyou used ?

8) What is your structure assembly skill at when you made/failed the items?

9) What time of days and what time zones were you on when you tracked this pattern?

I think that will help us track down if there is a pattern to this abnormality in our profession and I will be happy to tally up the result periodically and see if there is any trends emerging that might shed some light on why some of the architects out there are having problems. I tend not to see any of the widespread failures that you all seem to be seeing. No I am not Mon Cal. No I have no assembly enhancing items. I am two boxes from master despite basically building for msyelf and my friends and not so much for the public but I seriously don't fail very often /shrug. Let's see if we can't figure out what the problem is then and mayb we can hand the devs something concrete to try and fix

I'm game. I have 1000 structurals to make for an architect this week so I'll be able to nail that one down

More the merrier as far as I am concerned it will only expand the statisical sample size

Not to crap on your thread, but I think this plan is rather a huge waste of time on your part, and on anyone that participates.

Also, you failed to mention or to take note of what "race" you are since people here are so hung up about being an octopus, and how great it helps.. you also failed to equate what level architect they are and how far they are up on the Construction. Also, didnt take note of the "crating tool experimentation level" + the crafting station "experimental levels"...

Oh, and you also forgot to include what the quality, density, decay of the specific Ore that you used, in relation with the Metal or Steel that you added to make the structure model. YOu also didnt factor in whether or not you are running from town to town, or if you are in city at one of the most busiest laggiest moments that could also help with the fail. You also didnt take note your health, or mind, or if you are crafting on an empty stomach or if you ate a huge melon or two.

Or, you should also factor in whether anyone is using any skill enhancers or tapes to help them craft.

My point is.. its RANDOM.. completely random.. the reason I am led to believe this is because, well for a lot of reasons.. but one for example would be, i would be using 1 type of siliciastic ore, along with 1 type of steel to craft lets say 15 structural modules. Technically, I shouldnt fail on one if one succeeds since "what can possibly change while i sit there?" Of those 15, i will likely fail 1... or maybe 2.. just because, its BOUND to happen.. you cant avoid it..

Sorry to go off on my rant.. but if you do decide to further test your theories.. you should take into consideration what i suggested.

lol not to crap on your thread huh ? that's what you just did. Listen... you can participate or not .. but one thing I can ASSURE you of is that it is NOT random. I am not a big believer in random when it comes to programming because it is structured. Sure you can grab a random value from the languages random number generator but it gets placed in a strutured equation and used to get a range of values. That's not entropic, not completely random. Furthermore if it was completely random why am I not experiencing the woes of critical failures in bunches. Statistically I should have by now! I still don't seem to be getting these catastrophic critical failure rates that people are proffesing they ar experiencing. Could it be "just a matter of time" for me ? Is a huge bunch of failures in my future ? I suppose it's possible but I fail to see the logic of it comming if I haven't experienced it so far.

As for race... I suppose you didn't read where I asked what your assembly skill is at the point you made the items. Mon Cal get what ? +10 structure assembly ? I guess that wouldn't be figured into that number huh ?

What's the worst thing we can get from this ? Nothing.... What do we have now ? Nothing ... What's the best thing we can get from this ? A possible explanation ... What do we have now ? No explanation ... So track it with me or don't, it's no skin of my nose ... I am not having the problem ... I am just trying to figure out why it is happening to some of you

Oh and everything you claimed I was missing is actually figured into that list if you read carefully. Assembly Skill is the number you want regardless if it is through enhancers, race mods or anything else the total number is the necessary statisic. I did also ask what the statitics of the resources used was
