Q says "Critical failures should be better".

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Better?? I hit master architect this week, and in the last three days, I've gotten more crit fails than I have since release. I don't know if this is due to some "fix" or just because, as people have been complaining for a month, that master architects are screwed up and failures actually increase as you go up the tree. I saved the construction tree for last, and as I trained up it, I watched my crit failures climb.

I am seriously giving up architect until this is addressed. Just today, out of crafting about 40 items (motly furniture), I failed on probably 1 in 6 items, including a FUSION REACTOR. So that's 110,000 lost credits, plus 4 hours work, right there. And I'm using high-level tools and stations (all 93%) and good quality resources.

Of course, my other chosen profession is TK, so I guess I'm pretty much SOL no matter what I decide to do.

Check the quality of both the crafting TOOL and crafting STATION. If you have low quality tools they are probably affecting your crit fails. Since I've upgraded mine, I've seen my crit failures reduce dramatically.

I feel your pain... crit failed on a medium house last night... that sucked up half a week's work (for me... I'm one of the so-called casual players that supposedly they are supposed to be aiming to draw in and keep).

No decay + uber loot = /spit on crafters

Fix the economy and give crafters their $$$ worth... give us real revamp.

I'm still waiting for someone to provide some documented evidence on the tools and stations improving crit fails. I've seen some evidence from weaponsmiths that high quality stations improve there experimentation rates, but have yet to see anything on crit fails from anyone other than I think i'm crit failing a lot more or less now.

If you read my message, I said Tools AND station. I'm a master artisan and they are the best I've been able to make with the resources we've had since launch. Tools are all at 93%, station is at 88%. In fact, I'm using better tools and station now than I was 3 weeks ago, and I'm getting more critical failures. Seriously, for 3 days it's been a minimum of 1 in 8. How can I survive failing over 10% of my attempts?

I used to say the same thing you just did, before I had any boxes in Construction. I hit level 4 on the three other trees and my failure rates were very low. Then, in a matter of about 4 days I went from Construction 1 to master, and the whole time my failure rate climbed, until it hit the dismal levels I see now. And I'm using exactly the same materials, since I mined the heck out of them when I found some decent ones.

For me they have fixed the furniture line, i know this becuase when i experiment something i have a much higher chance of succeding then failing, it used to be about 80% failure chance and now it is down to 40% failure and even lower. I have only received 3 crit failures out of maybe 100 combines. So the fix worked for me.

Yeah, they fixed the experimentation part, although not enough to be in line with other professions. As a master, I can experiment on furniture that's at, say, level 2, and if I apply all my experimentation points to a try, I've got about a 27% failure guage, which is a lot better than before, when we had 1 point and a 60% failure rate.

But that's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about critical failures on the last step of production, after any experimentation has been done.

I have gotten less crits failures on deeds and components.

My rates have remainded either unchanged or even slightly higher. I have made new tools and crafting stations with decent (not uber, but 800 plus cond and qual) stuff. Still crit failing about the same. Have lost 1 heavy mining, 4 wall modules, and other random little stuff and furniture.

StPhil, for crafting tools (and I think stations) you get the best experimental results using copper with very high conductivity (at least in my experience).

Crit fails have gone up for me by about 15%- my tools are all failry new and between 80% -88%. The strangest thing is that for 4 out of every 5 crit fails I have, they come 2 in-a-row and the next is usually (2 out of 3) an amazing success.
