Thread: Information On Harvester Lots and Fusion Power PLants AND Factories
OK i spent alot of time trying to find thise info and never could, i wound up having to Build everything to find out.
ALL harvesters of ALL size take up 1 lot
Personal Mineral, Gas, ChemExtractors max 2 KG/hour
Medium Mineral, Gas, ChemExtractors max 4 KG/hour
Heavy Mineral, Gas, ChemExtractors max7 KG/hour
The Heavy and Medium Mineral Extractors take up the same amount of space. sorry havent gotten the other harvester yet, havnt needed them, ill post when i do have the info.
ALL Factories EXCEPT the Structure Factory take up one lot, the structure Factory takes 2, you wil gain full experience from the items you craft in a factory as long as you are on the same planet, this i have tested, i dont know whether you will or not on another planet, YOU WILL NOT gain experience if you are logged out, you MUST be logged in to get the experience from items being crafted in the factories.
The fusion power plant takes one lot, it is a harvester and ALL harvesters take one lot, in order to run a fusion power plant you need ot place it on a radioactive mineral Spot, i would suggest 75%+, they are worth the maintence, and gather so much more than winds, probably cause winds energy is hard to find a high % spot. Fusion Plants max 13 KG/h
Great Information. Thanks. I knew you got XP butt did not know you had to be on the same planet and logged in. I especially like the extration rates and notes about lot sizes too. Thank you.
Anyone figure out what 5Kg per hour ACTAULLY equates to in resouces in real time?
Hmm.. that sounds like it might actually be accurate. Thanks. I had thought that I might actually time it one day just to get a real handle on the metrics of production and costs.
Thanks
Zul is right.
And to toot my own horn I first posted the conversion to units/minute and many ridiculed me at the time. But now everyone, in the know, knows this. Take the rate (in Kg/Hr) and multiply by 60 to get units per hour. Then multiply again by 24 to get units per day. So a medium mineral harvester on a 100% spot will collect 4x60x24=5760 units per day. On a 65% spot you would get .65x4x60x24=3744 units per day.
Also of interest to some here would be that maintenance rates are off on solar harvesters and on Heavy mineral harvesters. They actually charge you double what they indicate in 'status'. So if you put in two days maintenance you better get back within a day with more money. Also with the doubled rates, they actually cost much more to operate than the equivalent amount of smaller harvesters. Maximum resources for your buck come from small harvesters right now; not really fair, but perhaps the Devs have done this on purpose to slow down the powergamers on all servers.
I'd check the other large harvesters since I have Installations IV, but don't feel like wasting more resources to find that they too have borked maintenance rates. But if anyone will pay me very well (in resources mostly, andsome credits secondarily), I'll build you one.
Chocobacca, Corellia, Flurry server.

Someone mentioned that 5kg/hr is actually 5 units perreal life minute.
I've seen this quoted too, but I'm not sure it's true. Only anecdotal, but I have a medium that says it's getting like 2.4, which would be 2.4 per minute (I know, crappy vein). Yet I've let it run for maybe 90 minutes and gone back and it had over 300 ore in it.
However I haven't actually sat down to time it exactly, so if someone else has and I'm full of crap, I'll admit it ![]()
Oh, and thanks for the info on fusion reactors. It sounds like basically all they are is a special harvester that can ONLY mine radioactives, but does so at like twice the rate of a large harvester? This seems kind of odd, since fusion doesn't require radioctives like fission does. Remember the fusion power plant on the car in "Back to the Future"? He just dumped any trash in there and it made fusion power ![]()
