Hi, an architecht friend of mine told me that selling fusion power is a good way to have a moderately high, constant income. I was wondering who buys this power and how i shold market it. If this post is in the wrong place im sorry. Any feedback is greatly appretiated.

Our guild sells power. Yes, selling fusion power is a way to make money. Its not the most profitable I wouldn't think but its a good steady cash flow without a huge amount of work.

There is usually radioactive available and its not too hard to find a decent density in the 70-80% range. A fusion gen will pull about 14k units daily on such a spot for a cost of the 1440 creds. Thats only about 0.1 cpu costs.

Power generally sells for 1-2 cpu. PE for fusion matters. The equation is units of power = PE/500. So PE of 500 will give you 1 unit, PE 750 is 1.5 units and PE 1000 is 2 units. You might set your prices based on the PE rating. Pricing should be set based on your servers market so check your servers prices.

You can marketfusion by advertising on your server's trade forum that you're selling power. You can also setup a shop with a vendor and stock your power there in bulk lots. Or you can contact known miners and see if they are in the market for a regular supply of fusion power and just sell to them direct.

As an architect, I haven't gathered my own power for about 6 months or so, since I figured out that I was better off buying power and using that lot for mineral mining.

As Pawlin says, the nice thing about a "power company" is that it is pretty steady business - you know what your costs are and the prices people are willing to pay for power don't flucuate a lot.

A suggestion - post on your galaxy trade board looking for existing power companies. It may be that this idea hasn't caught on on your server yet, and you will be breaking new ground. Or you may find that there is an existing power company that you could do business with. Since one key to the power business is to be able to deploy *big* "fusion farms" they quite often are looking for reliable people to put out a fleet of fusions and deliver the power to a central spot. That way you wouldn't have to worry about marketing or selling - you would essentially be a contract miner for a power company. Nice steady money supply without a lot of effort.

A word of advice.

Do not get greedy.

Put your harvs down and sell the power for 1.5 to 2 cpu. As a matter of fact only sell it for 2 cpu if the PE is over 750 in my opinion.

If you set up a vendor and seet it at this rate you will:

A) Always have regular customers

B) Egro, have a steady constant source of income.

Always save 20k credits to plant the fusions down the next cycle.

This one thing has made well over 30 people on Tempest very well off. The greedy people that raise prices and do not sell regularly usually are gone pretty quick.
