Had this been a Dev saying that this is completely random, I'd have to agree with Bandola that the statement isn't correct. However, it is a CSR making that comment, and they are only told so much, and even then, some of what they are told is dis-information.

It's true though, that the numbers are completely random, steel would be 1-100% and ore would be more 1-75%. But it is random within the given range of course. Only a true random figure would be consistant with (neg) infinitey to (pos) Infinitey. That's where the only true random comes from, if you want to get technical of course.

I asked about this very question some time ago, I was hoping to see an increase in Ore vein %'s too. I doubt that we'll ever see that happen. We give up higher concentrations for larger fields of the same percentage. Which to me, is actually better. I would prefer to see some 70's in that field, but some 60's do nicely.

I mine my own materials, I have that luxury. To be able to put down 16 Heavies, yes I have 2 accounts, in realitively the same vein and percentage yield, I am actually benefitting from that fact. I grant you, being able to put several down in a 90+ field would be great, but over all, not having a major difference in how much my harvesters yield, and we're talking 1-100 units in 24 and even 48 hours, is great. I can pretty much calculate how long I can be away from my harvesters before I have to pull from them. It allows me more time to myself to do the things in the game I want to.

There is a benefit to having it the way it is, and a detriment to it as well. Ore is the one resource in the game that an Architect simply can not survive without. He needs it in MASS quantities. An Architect generally uses more ore than any combination of resources out there in the game, bar none. I agree, it would be nice to see the veins increase, but I also like things the way they are.

I ahve submitted NUMEROUS csr tickets in regards to not being able to find peaks of LGO over 60%. NUMEROUS times they have responded with "The deposit of resources on planet and in the galaxy is completely randomn." This this I say Garbage!!!

When the game first launched I would have agreed. Yes the placement an percents are randomn. But enough time has passed and enough surveying to see that the% amountof peak spots of ore is NOT randomn...in fact it is quite predictable. YOU KNOW you WILL NOT find a peak of ore over 65%. EVERY other resource I have surveyed for can reach peaks of 90% + but LGO ONLY peaks at like 70% IF god is smiling upon you and the planets are in perfect alignment.

PLEASE SOLVE THIS....it is absurd that the resource MOST used by architects in the LARGEST quantities should be so hard to find.

Also....I am curious...how hard would it be to make it so that ALL people on admin get structure damage emails...AND make the emails come out the MOMENT maint reaches 0? I mean being an architect myself I KNOW I am not alone is saying that I use other peoples lots as well.

What about adding a +5 lots to master artisan and a +5 to master Architect? Would that work as well? I am curious

I would say that the response from CSRs is not entirely accurate. Completely random would imply that every resource that spawns has a possibility of peaking at 1% or at 100%, to my knowledge I have never encountered either of these extremes. I would rather believe that the spawns are random within a given range, i.e with a ceiling and a floor. For Ore the ceiling would appear to be somewhere between 75-80% as I have not seen concentrations higher than this. It is my opinion that there is a trade off with Ore, although the concentration peak is lower, the availability of ore is greater, meaning that although the concentration is less it can be found over a wider area. Think of it like this, you can find other minerals insay 6spots of 90%, or you can find ore in say 9 spots of 60%, the amount of ore out there is then the same as the total quantity of the other mineral, it's just more easily found. I am happy witrh this set up, it avoids the situation where grind ore becomes a 'rare' or difficult resource to find, thereby keeping the price stable.

I am not in favour of increasing lots for Architects. If I had 10 extra lots as a MA I would probably put down harvesters and mine my own resources. That would presumably be the same for other Archs. If we mined all our own resources then the already weak market for Harvesters would decline. I prefer to sell my harvs to resource suppliers/miners and buy the resources from them. I sell more harvs that way and at the same time contribute to the overall economics of the game by giving those resource sellers a market that they can continuously supply. Archs are after all probably the largest resource users in the game.
