Thread: A couple of ideas that I think could be cool

One thing that I had in mind was to be able to put stuff on our balcony at the tops or sides of our homes. But the real thing I was thinking about was a caravan for merchants that can be made by an architect. The caravan would be pulled by one mountable pet. It would be able to hold 1 vender and maybe 50-100 items. It would be able to go anyplace in the middle of a city ect. What it would be used for is to sell things ( duh ) but really more of a sampling cart of what your shop holds. I think it would be a pretty cool idea for a merchant and architect both. Let me know your thoughts on these ideas.

the balcony thing i think was supposed to happen but won't (for a long time anyway) cos it just ends up being too many things to draw on the screen. the caravan idea is a good enough idea it's been talked about a lot in the new ideas thread, but who knows if it'll happen tho :/

i think that caravan idea is great. you should definetly see what other people think. i would love not having to give people my waypoint because people dont like to drive 2km just to find an empty vendor which i have done many times i think being able to take some of your products around with you without eating inventory space would be very cool. the only problem i can see is that there would be tons of caravans with their afk owners macro spamming in every town.

on the caravan thing, the merchant prof board had a thread going about the same kind of thing. A stall you could setup, created by an arch, where you could sell some goods. There are definetely some things to be worked out about it (campers, afkers, spammers, etc) but man, it'd be cool and bring some life to the cities. Plus it'd give merchants a real feel for thier cusotmers by meeting them face to face instead of some random email that X had been purchaced off a vendor.

Love to see it, but as mentioned above, unless there is a lot of people calling for it, I dont see it being done anytime soon. (perhaps a merchant expantion pack: Jump to Merchant Stalls?) hehe

problem with online gaming:

-you got thousands of people playing, each saying to themselves "this game would be great if we had this, this, and this"

-so you get tens of thousands of ideas

-probably only a tiny sliver of those ideas are good

-the devs believe they are capable of coming up with plenty of ideas on their own

Therefore: The devs ignore 99.9999% of the ideas from the community because they don't wish to sift through the tens ofthousands of ideas submited to them, most of which they can't do anyway. The rare ocasion they do listen is when there isa huge outcry from just about everyone asking the same thing and that thing is easily implementable.

A simple fix to the balcony causing too many objects on screen

how about only making the objects visible when you have entered the house... like currently you cannot see inside the merchant tents untill you enter them.. which is probably a good thing considering all the cluttler that is found in most of them

Evem though it's probably true that the devs ignore these posts all together, I for one won't give up making the suggestions quite yet.
