If I remember correctly (and it has been a long time so please correct me if I'm wrong),the skillaffects the threshhold point at which you need a public or private crafting station.

I forget the breakover points, but a +5 attachment would let you make schematics that have a complexity level 5 points higher than normal without requiring a public station. And again you'd be able to use a public station for ones that would ordinarily require a private station.

Basically if you're using a private station (or a droid), a complexity attachment is useless.

They do not, however, reduce the complexity of the item that you craft. Only the determination of what kind of crafting station you need to be near in order to craft it.

Nevermind.

Elyssa, actually I believe it doesn't do that either. I am fairly sure they are broken completely.

I have seen that theory cited before but I can't remember for certain if anyones conclusively proved it one way or another.

I suppose I can check it out tonight, I've got about +11 structure complexity myself in my architect suit.

Even if it does do that, I doubt anyone would pay for tapes cause of it. An MSE droid with a structure crafting module would do the same thing.

Bleh.

That's why they call me Elyssa the Condescending, not Elyssa the Omniscient.

Ok, I checked the items available in the deeds page of my structure tool. Either with or with out my architect suit I had the same amount of items. I compared either with no station or with the public one.

Oh and I actually have +14 structure complexity.

Made no difference.

Oh, I thought it decreased the amount of time it took for the crafting tool to create the item. But, I have no idea why I thought that. I'll check it this weekend if Pawlin doesn't beat me to it.

Doesn't this decrease the time it takes for an item to be manufactured in a factory? I know that the more you experiment on one item, the higher the complexity of said item becomes, which in return takes more time for the item to be manufactured in the factory. So,using this tape might lower the overall complexity, which results in lower manufacturing times.

No I can say for sure it doesn't effect factory times. When they first changed it so that factory times would go up when you experiment the schematic, I had the same thought and tested it myself. Structure complexity sill tapes don't make any difference to factory times.
