I've got the hang of the idea that you don't need to experiment on everything, but is it even worth looking for decent materials for houses? It doesn't impact on maintenance cost or item storage at all, does it?

The number of items is based on lot size so that wont change
House maintenence stays the same
The only thing that i have seen that could make a difference is the condition, if you run out if money to maintain the house (happened once to me ) as a result, reaching 0 condition quicker
Otherwise i would not worry to much about it ,i dont.

I used recycled materials for my houses, never had any problems with it
