Thread: What archies should stock (for newbies)

I keep seeing this asked, I figured that I'd write something and hope it gets a clicky in the stickied guide

Ideally... a dozen of EVERYTHING!

(except gungan heads, because they are so useful in grinding that there's thousands of them out there)

furniture
Paintings sales for myself (and from what I hear, others as well) have been slow, and with the 48k sales price for the schematic from the museum curator in Bestine, not something a broke archy can jump into.

White (ivory) furniture requires very specific materials, which aren't always available. If you can get them, stock a fair amount of these. When I throw them on the bazaar, they move fast...

I try to keep at least 1/2 dozen of each type for sale. Sales can be iffy, one thing sells well one week, something else the next, and so on. One week, I sold about 20 armoires, a dozen chests, a bunch of bookcases - and maybe 1 each for the rest of the month.

Fountains - at least one of each type. For me they're a slow but steady sale.

housing
It's worth keeping a least a couple of each style of house appropriate for your planet, plus generic planet houses. As for houses for other planets, that's up to you. I personally don't bother, partially because I see myself as supplying the local area, not being a major Galactic merchant... Recently I've seen a decline in small house sales, so I haven't bothered keeping up with my stock.

Guild Halls! People use these as houses, so keep a few of them on hand.

civic structures
I find these sell very slowly. I stock one of most types, plus a few gardens. For the most part, they sit on my vendor squishing her head. I'd say build them if you have resources to spare and if you feel like it, but I sometimes wonder if it's worth it. Maybe I have them as much for the knowledge that I'm well stocked as for the money...

In another thread, I saw a recomendation for a sachel (w/e) with one of each type of civic structure as a startup kit for new mayors.

harvestors
It might be worth waiting until you get master archy to stock these, when you can experiment up the wazoo on these and make top of the line. I find that withing a couple BER points of the maximum will sell (ie BER11+ heavies), but below that... If you can, stock at least a dozen of each. Before Vendor Search, I had a couple special orders of people upgrading their fleet of harvestors. Cranking out 8 of them is a pain! And with the search, it's possible for someone wanting to upgrade to find a well stocked vendor.

If you can't build top of the line, I won't say don't bother, but you'll have to lower prices a lot to move them.

crafting stations
I sometimes get around to building a few, and I haven't hit a functionality rating above 10. Even so, when I list them, they've sold well.

Why do people pay to play a MMORPG but not want to interact with other people?
Why, SOELA, why? Did the entire management join a cult, and at the same time perform home lobotomies?
It takes less time to look at the stickies than to ask a question and wait for sarcastic replies. So please oh PLEASE ask the same question many times. I enjoy the sarcastic remarks.
