Thread: Machines shutting off
I have found solars that I own exclusively shut down and empty, and in severe disrepair after 2 days of not visiting them.. after spending enough for 4 days of maintenance.. No resource shift..
I have not had any harvesters turned off unless the resources shift, or it runs outta power or money, although I have had harvesters that I filled with money and power be dead the next day, and in disrepair..
I have had one harvester that 2 times now has changed resources after paying maintenance and depositing power, and emptying the hopper. I did go into the resource selection screen one of those times, but I cancelled after browsing.. the second time I was convinced something was wrong because I did not go into the change resources screen.. and it was different..
Can't convince me there are no oddball bugs for this..
Anyone at any time can turn your harvester off, and the devs have know about the issue for almost a week without doing any kind of hotfix.
You don't even need to be near the harvester to do it, or even visible. I've been a couple hundered meters away from a harvester and been able to turn it on. Yes I know how they are doing it, but they keep delete'n threads where I post how it is done, so I'm not going to repost the info here.
For those of you on Starsider, I have been on Tatooine running between my harvesters and when I see that a harvester is turned off, I turn it back on. Well, that isn't entirely true, any Imperial harvester that is already off gets left off. ![]()
But anyone that knows how to list the / commands can easily find out how it is being done.
Whereas in my case, I had just emptied my hoppers on three harvestors with the same resource. I came back in 24 hours to find they were off and no resource choosen and only 2 units in the hoppers. also the resource was gone from the nearly completely changed resource list. Maintenance fees were down and the power was about right for how long they didn't operate.
You may be able to turn off harvesters, but its highly unlikely thats whats happening in all cases here.
There is a definite bug with harvesters eating maintenance fees, causing them to shut off. Here is what just happened to me. I set up my 2 wind harvesters with 1440 credits each (24 hours worth), turned them on, and logged off for a day.Today I get on and notice that they are both at 79% and I owe over 2000c of repair on both... odd, I thought I timed it right. Then I open up the hopper to see 5 and 2 units respectively.... ok now I'm pissed. I figure that the resource just despawned, but after checking, ITS STILL THERE.
There is no logical explaination other than harvesters are randomly eating maintenance fees... this bug today will costs me over 10k credits since now all my other mineral extractors have to sit for a day with no power and accrue maintenance fees.
