Thread: Royalties from maintenance fees
Wouldn't it be nice to get a percentage of the money that people spend maintaining the harvesters and housing that you build? That way it's built into the system, no need to add resources or house repair kits or whatever to the house to repair decay. Keeps it simple. just package off a % of the maintenance money to the builder.
just an idea to discuss and bounce with other ideas.
I posted exactly the same idea on a prvious post and got no replies =(

Well, my idea would be a small percentage of the maintenance cost. Maybe something that wouldnt even total half the price of the structure in a years worth of play time. Does'nt sound unreasonable to me. We HAVE to have something that gives us returns...

They probably would too, Trigger.
Giving away 3000ru to make say, 2cr/day. The wisdom's already demonstrated in 3kcr small houses selling on the bazaar.
I guess there are better ways of doing it.8)
But how though? Replacable Home power sources by architects like Droid batteries by Droid engineers? Lasting 1 week per charge or something, and you can load as many charges as you want? (like the way you can pay pretty much unlimited maintenance money right now?
I've posted in the Correspondent thread after reading it, and I like the ideas about no redeeding allowed, and the stuff about only allowing artisans place deeds that they can make for other people (using their slots)
But with regard to this idea of taking a portion of the maint fees. it's not new money - it's already existing money. It's not generated out of thin air like the missions. it's money that is sitting in the accounts of all the players who own houses. Of course originally, that money was from thin air, but all money was at some point. Course if you don't have a lot of people using your houses you don't get much, and the permanancy issue is still there.
I'll have sold what will be close to 120 heavy/medium harvs by the end of this week, in addition to houses, PA's, etc. I could retire now & pull in thousands of credits a day, pretty much forever.
The devs want to SLOW to rate of money coming into the game, not speed it up.
