Honestly, when I first heard about this on test I was completely against it. However, if the changes on live are what they had on test the by all means I hope they KEEP IT.

I've always experimented up my harvs and just lived with the crits. The first thing I did last night was to uproot all my harvs and check them. I was plesantly suprised by the results.

1: Almost all had at least 100,000 hopper size.
2: The ratings on my Heavy Mineral Harvs were at least 7-8.
3: While I haven't checked it yet by placing a fusion and looking at the extraction rate, all my fusions are rated 23-25+.
4: All of my harvesters were at least as good as prepatch.

All those dabbler Archs that only get 1 line just to make heavy harvs are now up **edit** creek without a paddle and those people who complained about my prices then went and bought one off them for 100k are too. At this I just have to laugh. I have several pleased customers who thanked me today for making quality products and I must say that revenge is sweet! Yes, I did crit on one or two while experimenting but most everything I've sold is at least still on par or above par of post patch specs.

I'm offically changing my camp, Devs please keep the harvester experimentation changes!

Umm Sinclare...

I happen to be one of those "one tree guys" (well not really, I also have up to large houses, and the first box of furniture), but the simple fact is post patch, I put together two heavymineral for myself.

Results were over 100K on capacity, and 9 on extraction.

While I agree that a Masters product will be superiour to mine, any hopes you might have, of "dabblers" products being so inferiour they are unusable simply isn't what happened in this patch. While experimentation does matter, the quality of the material you built with matters too, so anyone CAN build at least a respectable harvestor, which still doesn't differentiate the products from a rank amatuer such as myself from a MA.

While I can understand and even agree with your position, this patch simply doesn't do what your hoping it would.

heh remember your opinion when u go bust on your resources after failing on several heavy harvesters during experimentation and u have to scrap 30k resources plus factory components cuz u didnt get a good success.

i am AGAINST this motion. i do NOT want to have 100 lots of harvesters going off of 10 different people just so i can "absorb" several crit failures per 1 "good" success. FK THAT. it costs way 2 much resources already to make what we make. experimentation and the added chances of failure is not worth it.

lower resource requirments plus give us the full 100 assembly/experimentation points and maybe i might change my mind but until then, no chance.

Not unsuable, just better. I've got no problem with someone just having the harv line BUT they shouldn't be half as good as one made by a master. Yes, materials do matter but at most you could get 29% exp from that.

Considering we only get 65 experiment points total it can be experimented up to the 70% range as a master.

I'm not looking to put dabblers out of business but there should be a big difference between what a master makes and what someone with just 4 boxes in the profession can make.

Remembered and noted, but I was pretty much doing that before so it's no big deal. I've only had 1 crit during experimentation on heavy harvs in the last 2 months that dropped hopper to 0% experimentation and I deleted that one so it's just a matter of making being a master matter.

I like it, and as far as experimentation, The devs have already said something about getting us up to +100 if I remember correctly.

I've beenexperimenting on all my harvesters and houses, etc... since I first started arch. I logged in and my vendors were empty!!! I made the 500k club!

This is the point I'm trying to make, your a Master, I'm no where near it, and you won't find it possible to build anything that is even 20% better than mine (on the only part that counts, which is extraction rate). That is where the problem lies, yours SHOULD be far better than mine, but they won't be.

Here is what I submit for "proof" of the matter. Best extraction I've seen so far on these forums for mineral heavy'sis 10. The Heavy's I made post patch, came out at 105K hopper, with an extraction rate of 9, and I didn't really "try" on my ore mining component, it was just what was laying around in my factory from pre patch.

That is just not enough differentiaton of our products, considering your a master, and I'm not. It should be a far greater range.

well im a full master architect

and all my harvs suck now

must be my fault that i didnt experiment on everything I did,

why didnt I experiment as it has been said time and time again it wasnt going to be bought in.

why is revenge so sweet?? I dont get it does it really make you feel great that other architects have been screwed due to this, not everyone reads the forums all the time, not everyone is a gamer who spends all there time on this game.

SWG was meant to be casual, although I agree arcitect is not a casual proffession, it doesnt say anywhere in the game spec that I must read the forums every day to have a clue whats going on.

some of us work have families and other outside commitments.

If they want to implement it thats fine

but i dont think they should then nerf every pre patch harvesters, because it effects alot of pople who have scrimped and saved to get a harv

I sold my heavys for reasonable price 135k or 115k to my friends

Ive said it many times on these forums before, it disgusts me that people get so excited over the anguish and hurt off other people, its a game, supposedly a friendly community all your showing with your comments is that all you care about is yourself!

There is no point whatsoever in not rolling the change back to existing harvestors.

I like it all, and I got hit hard.

I still like it

On the contrary, They will be reverting the changes to harvesters already made (from what I've gathered) and that's great. Ones already sold shouldn't be changed.

As far as casual gamers, yes..I am one. I only have 1 account, I get lucky to play for an hour or two a day due to working 12-13 hours a day (including saturdays) and have a son to take care of.

My gripe is with the low ballers (and the effect they have had on my customers). I'm spending my game time making a quality product and trying to look ahead to the future when these things will matter and while they have been grinding out trash and undercutting me by 60+k. Now the same people who laughed at my piddly 4-5cr per unit prices (not even enough to cover buying resources to make the harvesters) see why I charged that and now when someone says "well joe-blow is selling them for 80k", I can say "really, so what are the stats on the harvs joe-blow is selling?"

Greedy? Selfish? No. When you go out to buy a new computer and X brand is selling 486's for 50 bucks then laugh at someone selling a top line P3 system for more than 50 bucks...well you get what you pay for.

has anyone taken a look at how this would affect up and coming MA's? Do we want to make our profession turn into the MWS fiasco and make it so any new aspiring MA has to grind up to MA just to sell and compete with a MA? Who would want to buy a medium harvester that only has 1-2 extraction rate and a 12 hopper when that same person can goto a MA and get a 4 extraction and 25 hopper for the same price? I have nothing against better product, but make it so the baseline is the old rates and make experimented one have better rates above the baseline.

I am a master archi, and this patch hit me very hard, I had just ran off a bunch of mediums and heavies to restock my vendor, about 3mil worth of product. I rarely experimented on anything, and thats my own fault.

The new hotfix should help me out there though which is only right, due to the lack of notice on SOE's part.

But, I think this patch may help the architect profession start to come in line with the weaponsmiths and armorsmiths as far as skill to profit ratio.

Master archi's dont make much more money than the novices with a full housing and installation tree and we are constantly undercutting each other.

However, We need to get the expermentation and assembly values fixed to come in line with the other trees, This issue has been on the backburner for TOO LONG, since the majority weren't experimenting.

NoDak, I agree with you on the hopper size, as most of my unexpermented mediums only had 5k hoppers on them which is absolutely crazy. And if1-2/12 isthe best you can get, you need some better materials. Most of my unexperimented items were on par as far as the extraction rate, but my hopper sizes were tiny.

Look at it this way: have you ever bought a gun/blade/armor from a novice? Definately cheaper, but not as good. This is bringing archi's in line with the other crafting professions.
