I don't believe this!! I have used the same resource and components that I have made 20 other heavy harvs with without a hitch. I have tried 3 fusion, 3 hvy mins and a hvy floria and crit fail on all of them. Same station, device everything,,,I am really pissed at this crit failing crap. I worked my way to Master only to have this? This little patch has cost alot of people resources, credits and a whole lot of frustration. If I can't make the final product then I am gonna be out of business quick. I am not alone with this problem, my neighbor just told me he had 9 crits in a row trying to make a customer a crafting station. Something needs to be done quick. To all those out there having this same problem I really feel for ya. I just hope Sony fixes it as well as they screwed it up.

Yep, I dont' have the resources for 7 crits in a row on hvys, but I DID have enough for 2 crits in a row on mediums, and I'm now totally hooped. I'm considering dropping architecture now.

too bad for you guys....i havent had 1 crit on a medium or large house or a medium harvestor in my career.....i have crit failed 3 wall mods in a row which was the worst for me.....make sure you have at least 600UT ore though, it makes a big difference with the higher UT ore and in difference i mean less crit fails.

I won't agree with >600UT part but I do agree with the concept and I proved it over a month ago on the Eclipse server. I used horrible resources and had an almost 7% failure rate, then I used >900 resources and had a 2% failure rate. It might not seem like a lot but the final combine on a PA hall could fall right in that 5% and that would just suck.
Stick with HIGH quality resources guys and barring a freak of nature, you'll be fine.

I read a post where someone did a ton of tests with varying resources and varying tools/stations. The thing that had the highest impact on crti fails ended up being the crafting station's functionality. 42+ had a very low crit fail percentage when compared to the others. And believe it or not, the -15 station had fewer crit fails than the +15. I thought that was odd, but perhaps it was just a fluke. *shrug*

As far as crafting after the patch, I had to completey restock my vendor as I have previously experimented everything as I made it pre-patch and it all sold like hotcakes. Anyways, I had a LOT to reastock, and i think out of 200+ items, I only had 7 crit fails, and none on final combines. I had +10.7 tool and a +42.31 crafting station. Hope this helps.

I've posted this countless times over and over again but here is my opinion on this. Try it out, I haven't had anyone in game thats tried this come back and tell me they're still having the same amount og crit fails...

Crafting stations don't mean jack. They help with experimentation (although the FR seems to have very little to do with it) but nothing to do with the final combine crit fail.

Unit Toughness and Malleability seem to make all the difference in the world. I use ore and metals with high stats in these catagories to make my stucture mods and walls, then I experiment the durability to at least 40%.

I can't remember the last time I crit failed a final combine. I still crit fail stuff on occassion when I'm starting with raw materials but It's really been about two months since I crit failed a final combine on anything using materials built this way.

When you critted 7 times in a row....

What was the quality of the resources you were using?

What was the rating on your crafting tool/crafting station?

Did you experiment up your sub-components?

I've noticed less critical failures when I'm using my +38 crafting station vs using my +14 crafting tool. Higher quality material seems to make a difference in critical failures. Higher end crafting stations DEFINATELY make a difference in critical failures. I started out with -14 crafting station and moved to a +20 and finally a +38. Even with the same structure assembly bonus, I crit failed less with the higher end crafting stations.

Experimenting up your subcomponents makes a difference in your product quality. Just make one crafting station with crappy parts and great raw resources and one crafting station with both great subcomponents and great raw resources and you can see a final difference of about +30 rating.

Myth? Where did you hear that?

I rarely had any failures during my entire career, but last weekend I failed on three crafting stations right ina row (optional components down the drain). Before that I failed a Medium Harvester and a Large House. So... this high crit fail thing isn't new since patch. It's been going on fora couple days/weeks before the patch.
