Ok, Lets have a vote. I haven't logged in today but it seems that Experimentation actaully means something now. From what I have read you can increase your hopper past the old default and increase the extraction rate past the old default. This means that taking time to craft something good will actaully be worth something. In my opinion I think all current Harvestors are worth what people paid for them. Now a decent harvestor will run at least 5 creds per and a great one will at least 10 per but really what ever the market will pay for it.

Now the most vocal amongst the group will be the miners, but lets face it, if you can afford 10+ heavys in the first place then you can afford to replace them.

If extraction can be increased and hopper size can be increased beyond the old base then this will make our profession on equal terms with the rest engineering professions.

No longer will we be laughed at and called idiots, I vote to keep the new experimenting counts way, who is with me?

I see it as a good change generally. Finally experemintation doing something and making architecture less dull.

However without decay this is what will happen. As better harvesters come out miners will start replacing their fleets with better stats ones. This will create a huge surplus of lower quality harvesters that will drop their price to below cost ... First because of lower quality and secondbecause miners replaycing their fleets will trysell the old deeds for as fast as possible to whatever win possible, thus competing with non-master Architects fornon high-end customers. This is a bad thing, especialy for us not mastering the art yet, what might drag down also better quality harvesters, especially if lowballers are in the market. It will make all non-high end harvesters worthless, affecting both those that dont have the skill but also allof architectsin times where no high quality resources are available.

Double edged sword.

I really like the way it working. See my other post I made a med mineral quick during lunch that was 7Kg/h 65K hopper.

However I don't agree with "nerfing" everyones existing harvesters. People seem to hate us enough as it is. No architect in their right mind is going to sell a medium like the one I made for anything less than5-6cpu after what we've been through probobly more.

To "force" everyone to restock their crappy non experimented nerfed ones isn't right though.

Increased efficiency will also have a drastic impact on the economy and destroy miners in the long run. This is a good and bad thing for us, while resource prices will drop drasticly because of more supply they are also our biggest harvester customers because they have a solid base line to work off of.

This is a real sticky one, and I am on the fence.

Do we think these changes are going to stay? On the thread about replies from test center it says, " However, since the game has run for several months with the wrong numbers, we will continue to go with those values. So the TC structure changes you are seeing are a side effect of another change and will be restored to their old values soon. So just to be clear: Ignore the current rates and capacities on TC. They are not going to stay like that and they will not be pushed to live. The harvester rate and capcity numbers on TC will not be on live and will not remain on TC."

So is this all just a mistake or do you think it will stay this way.

Is capacity really that big of an issue? I can see the benefits of increased extraction rate, but I could really care less if my capacity goes from 25k to 30k on an extractor.

Like Reeka, I too can see both sides of this coin, and am still awaiting official word from the devs whether this will stay or not. I am also on the fence with this one, and will go which ever way they decide to take it, I just wish I knew before I start crafting again. I feel as though whatever I dom can come back and bite me in the @ss unless I wait and hear what the ultimate decision is.
