Thread: Architects and the GCW
I would like to pose a few ideas out there for more architeect involvement in the GCW, I believe it would add to the life of the profession, as well as give Master Archi new and exciting things to do. I'd like to hear everyone's ideas on the subject.
This is what I like/propose/wish:
1. Imperial/Rebel Architects can pay Faction Points to acquire Factional Building Schematics. The faction points for the schematics would be the same as buying the building, just the architect would be able to reproduce it.
a. These factional building do not come with troops of any kind, the troops need to be purchasedand"placed" in the building in order to defend it, etc etc
2. In order to satify the Dev thirst for more cooperation between classes, an architect who can build turrets can only build the base structure. In order to complete the Factional Deed he/she must acquire a weapon mount deed from a Factioned Weaponsmith, and if they want a very nice armored turret, must acquire an armor deed/component from a factioned armorsmith. The architect them can combine these components to make the final structure. This idea can pan out for all the GCW structure. For example a DE can provide a medical droid to be placed in a faction medical cener to heal when there are no medics around. BTW I know they dont operate like that at the moment, but it would be nice for a useful DE droid
.
These are only a couple of ideas I have. I would like to hear the response/interest in having this sort of involvement in the game. I know building houses and harvesters is exciting, but this profession has so many possibilities.

This sounds like a wonderful idea, the game really needs more cooperation, and some of the faction costs for HQs are HUUUUUGE!
But I think that once a few key architects have the schematics, no one will spend points on getting them from the recruiter. Perhaps schematics should take enormous amounts of faction points, or only have limited uses.
Just my thoughts, I really like the ideas about cooperation between professions ![]()
You might be right about people not using FP once a few architects can build the buildings, but I do believe since they are destroyable/capturable making them require a large amount of resources to build in the first place and not placing any troops would keep the use of doing imperial/rebel missions up as something to work for, maybe even increase the use of FP just to keep a fresh supply of troops in the building.
I'm not sure how that detail would work as far as keeping the factional building from being on every corner, but I'm sure there is a way. I appreciate the feedback, wish I could get more!

Right now, theres no diferance between Rebel turrets or imperial turrets. Heck, im pretty sure you can even be an Imperial, buy a turret schamtic, give it to a rebel and they could use it in thier rebel base.
2nd thoughts:
I also thought about Turrets as being a joit project by combining a weaponsmith, armorsmith, and architect.
The Weaponsmith would be responsible for buidling the firing mechanizm, the actual weapons. That would give the turret a varying statistic in Damage.
The armorsmith would be responsible for the armor plating. To no suprise, the better they make the plating, the better the armor stats are.
The architect. The architect would combine those 2 elements, as well as construct the actual housing and would be responsible for the integrity of the building ( Health, this stat should vary in great numbers, and realy put emphasis on the importance of having a good architect ) and in the end turn it all into a schematic to be able to be used in a base.
Dont bite my headoff if this idea has been proposed in any way/shape/or form in the past. Just a brain storm, when thinking about the absense of turrets on multi-million credit bases.
