Hello Fellow Architects,

Second post you know.

I HAVE TRIED TO MAKE THESE QUESTIONS QUICK TO ANSWER.

(but expansion is welcomed)

1. Does factory BER have any impact on anything in terms of anything?

(I hope I got this right)

2. What are the clothing attatchments (skill tapes?) that an architect should look for?

3.If you need skill tapes to become a 12 point architect, I imagine you need to collect 12 in total is this right?

4. Where do these architect skill tapes come from? and I guess is it possible for architects being crafters and not genghis khan types be able to get them without buying them?

5. I guess prices vary for skill tapes but is there a general price range on the BRIA galaxy? (toughy I guess)

Dont sigh just afew more....these are slightly more general but applicable I hope.

6. Is shipwright steel available to all or just those who have JTL or above?

7.Can you use alt characters lots? I mean can you share you harvested goods (via the hopper or house) through the permissions service?

8. Can you hire lots off other characters (not yours) by means of the game or just by a gentlemans agreement?

9. Is there a general price guide for this on the BRIA galaxy? (again, toughy i guess)

Ok nearly there...

10. Do droid compartments matter in terms of there quality in making crafting stations?

This final one is only slightly applicable....

11. What are sockets in a travel pack? i mean do they means you can carry more goods to help make goods for you customers on the move? (see what I did there? Ok enuff already!!! I know)

Hope these questions help other Noobs too. I have learnt much from this forum but needed to ask these!!!!

May the resource be with you! (im sure someones thought of that but I thought I was clever).

I'll try to help as best as I can...

1. BER is base extraction rate. For example I think the highest for a fusion generator is BER 13, I have a BER 26 from before they changed it so my BER 26 pulls out resources twice as fast.

2.not sure on these, but maybe structure assembly or artisan experimentation.

3. no, you need a total of 20 experimentation points to become a 12 point anything. You gain an extra experimentation point for every +10 you have, so +20 = 2 extra points = 12 pt whatever profession you are.

4.All sea's are loot items, find a guild or buy them or get them yourself. Or since you use the forums, try your galaxy trade board.

5. the points go for around 100k per point so a +4 is about 400k, give or take a few hundredk

6.Not sure what you mean, even if you don't have any expansions it is still possible to trade to get certain things.

7. If you have 2 characters on the same server yes you can share lots in the way you mean, you can add other players onto your houses and factories and what not.

8. You can do a cross server lot trade or find a friend to help you out, most crafters have friends who are combat and have extra lots. A cross server lot trade is where two people make characters on each others servers and put down houses or harvesters that stay there and each person maintains what is on their server.

9. depends on the person, most lot trades are just that, not sure about hiring lots.

10. not sure

11. Sockets in travel packs do not currently work at the moment. They are meaningless. I am a tailor and when I make an article of clothing it randomly gives sockets in the final product from 0-4. If an item has 1 socket i can add a single stat clothing attachment such as weapon experimentation +2. If an item comes out with 4 sockets you have 4 slots to work with for clothing attachments. Let's say you have 4 sockets and you have 2 clothing attachments, a weapon experimentation +2 and a clothing repair +18, adding these to the item will leave you with 2 sockets and will include those stats. I highly recommend you ask someone or do research for the rules of sockets and attachments to learn about what skills stick and what won't, there is some things to know in other forums.

2.not sure on these, but maybe structure assembly or artisan experimentation. The only ones that matter for Architects are Structure Assembly and Structure Experimentation. Structure Complexity exists but doesn't appear to really do anything.

3. no, you need a total of 20 experimentation points to become a 12 point anything. You gain an extra experimentation point for every +10 you have, so +20 = 2 extra points = 12 pt whatever profession you are. So, you would need to add +20 points of Structure Experimentation through skill tapes (clothing attachments or armor attachemtns) or through clothing with built-in bonuses (crafting aprons, looted clothing) in order to add the additional 2 experimentation points to become a 12-point architect. It's important to note that a given article of clothing will only add the highest value of a given modifier to your skills (i.e. - if you put two Structure Experimentation tapes into the same article of clothing, a shirt perhaps, you would only add the highest value to your skill total, not the combined value. If, however, you put the two tapes into separate articles of clothing, you would get the combined value.

4.All sea's are loot items, find a guild or buy them or get them yourself. Or since you use the forums, try your galaxy trade board.

5. the points go for around 100k per point so a +4 is about 400k, give or take a few hundredk This will vary greatly depending on the server. One thing that is certain, however, is that Structure Experimentation isn't as valuable as it's counterparts in Weapon and Armor. Since it only really impacts lamps and harvesters and you can max their critical stats without tapes most of the time, it doesn't provide a huge benefit. Most people add them simply to be able to increase the hopper size on their harvesters through experimentation once max BER is reached.

6.Not sure what you mean, even if you don't have any expansions it is still possible to trade to get certain things.

9. depends on the person, most lot trades are just that, not sure about hiring lots.

10. not sure Yes, the quality of the Droid Storage Compartment will have an impact on the final rating of the station. Make this item as well as you can.

11. Sockets in travel packs do not currently work at the moment. They are meaningless. I am a tailor and when I make an article of clothing it randomly gives sockets in the final product from 0-4. A couple of additions/corrections to the above. Hope this helps.

If you're new to architect, I'd recommend reading throught the FAQ. Theres sure to be some stuff in there that will help.

Some points in addition to the answers above...

There is no game mechanism. Any lot trades / rents is all just through agreements with other people. So you'll have to trust the other person some.

9. Is there a general price guide for this on the BRIA galaxy? (again, toughy i guess)

For pricing information, you can go to the public bazaar and use the galaxy wide vendor search. If you select just one type of item you can fairly quickly skim through all the items and get an idea of the price range. Then you can decide for yourself how to set your prices.

Or if you want to use a cpu price as a basis there are some tools linked in the FAQ one of which is an architect calculator that lets you do a cpu price + % profit to creat your own price sheet. But using pure cpu for prices can put some things way out of wack by over pricing some things and under pricing others so I'd recommend only starting there and then tweaking it. e.g. I wouldn't charge the same cpu price for a novice chest as a master chest.

10. Do droid compartments matter in terms of there quality in making crafting stations?

To get the highest station rating you have to use ALL the sub components and they all have to be made with the highest quality materials and experimented as high as possible. If you are making crafting stations, be aware that they use artisan experimentation points rather than structure experimentation. That means to max your station you will need to be a master artisan. Artisan experimentation above 10 points does not improve the station result since there is only one line.

OH MY WORD!!!

Thanks for the comprehensive help and tips along the way!

I probably could have named my message better e.g. Architect+Lots+Skill+Tape+Lots+of+Questions!!!

I managed to master artisan and architect in two weeks thanks to a very helpful master architect, copious amounts of reading, mundane wall making and of course the double XP!!!!

Now it seems I just have to learn the game I’m actually playing! This is my first MMORPG and it just seems vast.

Thanks again.
