Thread: Don't get flustered
Whatever people are willing to pay is the price that something should be.
Why is anything worth any price? Because people say it is.
It's useless to argue about prices. If someone is willing to pay a price they will buy the item. If not, then they won't. No clue why people go around ranting about the injustice of high or low prices. If a lot of players sell low, then it wont be cost effective for crafters to make the item and they wont. Supply goes down, price goes up again. Market economy.
PS: I sell small houses for 5k. Not because I think they are only worth 5k, but because I like to see players owning their own homes and having fun and I'm more interested in breaking even than making a profit.
I agree with you guys. Homes are not for everyone. If you can't afford a home, then you can't buy one.
The problem is simply immature people wanting everything fast and now. They want the best of everything that this game has to offer. This was never the intent of the developers. For example, SWG released, 30 days later we have Jedis. Everyone's a master in their profession. Well that was fun. Time to make a new game. THIS AINT HOW IT SUPPOSE TO WORK.
Patience people. Slow the heck down. Enjoy the game. This ain'ta freakin race to get to the top of some hill. Build your character over TIME...
Then the strangest thing happened... people started coming to me asking to make them buildings... then it hit me... this is how skill building is supposed to work! duh! Now I find myself making extractors and small homes for people. In time, I will be able to make larger, more profitable structures. But in the meantime I'm Role-Playing and having a good time building up a customer base that will grow with my skills.
Yes, we do need SOME master craftsmen right now, but once the economy picks up, we'll need crafters of all levels. Everbody, don't rush to the top. Take your time, make some friends. Enjoy the fact that we can now Role-play in the starwars universe.
I see a lot of posts where people get yelled at for prices being too high or even too low. Why bother getting flustered over these people. On Starsider in Mos Entha we have what I think qualifies at the village idiot, Finesse, who sits at the bazzar half the time and has paged me on several occasions (I think she forgot that she had previously) asking the price of a small home. The first time she told me my prices were too high and that her friend was selling them for 5k. The second time she told me she had a friend selling them for 1k a piece. I told her I wanted his name so I could buy some. She wouldn't give me her imaginary friend's name. Heh. Anyway, I see a lot of people like this. I don't quite know why they do it other than to possibly drive the prices down in general.
The bottom line is, if someone approaches you like this, just blow them off. For every person that balks at your price of 12 or 15k on a small, there is another person that will say, "Hang on, I'm just going to run to the bank to get the money. Brb." Keep the faith.
