Just curious was the going rate for furniture is? I've tended to settle around 5-6c/resource. The more hide the higher the price usually. But is 2200ish for a cabinet the going rate? They take just under 400 metal I think.

Pretty sure my cabinets are marked at 950. I sell the big curving couch from Furn 3 for 1350 credits. I see people selling some of these things insanely expensive and have to wonder. I still make plenty of money at those prices.

I think the point that out to be borne in mind is our skill level and the amount of time and expense it has taken usto reach Furniture IV or whatever.

If you base you prices purely on units of resources used, then top-end gunsmiths should be selling their weapons for 600cr, not 6,000 etc. What's more, weapons and armoursuffer wear & tear - our products do not.

I base my prices on the local market average. On the bazaar I match the average to avoid an undercutting war. In my shop I try to sell a little cheaper. I offer great discounts on large orders or to regular customers as a thank-you.

I guess it all depends on how much competition you have locally. If you have a number of "rivals" then you're rather forced into selling at below what you might otherwise achieve.

If it is just you and perhaps one other person in your home town selling a particular level furniture, study what each other is selling for and don't sell yourselves short.

I dread the day - and it will come - when we end up in the wretched position many housebuilders are in on Radiant, Tatooine, where folk funded by big guilds are selling small homes for as low as 8k.

Frankly, it's an embarrassment to see these people hawking their wares so cheaply. Even selling at 10k I could achieve far more money selling the raw resources.

I float to market demand and do bazaar offsetting.

Right now Kauri floats between 2000 & 2500 on the bazaar. There's never much flooding of the market, and if there is its over within a few days. I put a couple items on the boards, generally F2 stuff, one of any metallic made piece and charge 2000 for it. With a description that says for cheaper fairs visit my home.. yada.

If you are gonna trek out to my place, thanks for not having me trek out to yours.. so I give savings there. Generally my breakdown is:

F1 : 500 for metallics, 750 for wood/organic related
F2 : 750 for chairs, 1250 for cabinents, 15-1800 for couches (those hides hurt)

Crafting machines above 75%E, 1200, below, 900-1000.

I have avoided the rest of the furniture line atm since its all quite futile and I have enough for customer satisfaction atm. In the next week I will probably be ready to aquire F3.

I'm just enjoying a nice laxidazical approach to my crafter. It takes time enough to run around to all my harvies.. I'm not gonna grind my fun away.

Those ar epretty cheap prices. Considering that you have to order the hide a lot of the time and that materials on chilastra sell vaguely at 3-4:1, I base my prices off that. If an item costs 500 metal, it's automatically 2000, then i'd take on another 200 for my time to sit there and craft the item.I could be out making 30k/hour running missions otherwise. IfI had to buy the hides, that goes into theequation since hides are harder to secure in large quantities than other materials. This goes back to the same house argument. If you're nto going to charge more for the finished product than the materials it takes to produce it then why bother?? You can just as easily sell mass quantities of ore on the market. Even in furniture you guys aren't charging what your time is worth. Yes you can make a profit selling a round couch at 1500 credits. Is the amount of profit worth it for the time and devotion?? Absolutely not.
