Thread: Here I am
Hello Architects,
There seems to be a lot of questions as to weather I know what I am doing, or if I deserve this position or not. A lot of critism is coming towards me for not replying to all your posts, or not even saying Hello in the Correspondent Announcement.
The answer is simple, I'm not here to try and sell myself to you.
I COULD start threads asking for your advice, but to do that would only show my incompetence towards the issues at hand. I have read most of the important, relevant posts, on these forums, and have a fair understanding as to what needs to be addressed first and foremost. I don't see the need to start special threads AFTER I've became a Correspondent when there were plenty of issues BEFORE I was chosen. I would rather you all continue to post normally and not try to tell me how to think ![]()
I have read over almost all the other Profession boards to see how each Correspondent is handling their position, all of them have their own way of handling it. Yes, I have a low post count, but I believe Mara Jade said it best, "How can you hear a whisper if you're always shouting?".
Anyway, since I'm already here, I suppose some background information is in order.
I played EQ for 4 years, starting off with an Enchanter, got him to 60. Istayed around during Luclin and then quit before PoP was released, only to start up again when LoY came out. Made another Enchanter, got him to 60, and then a Monk, got him to 56. I've played almost all the other MMO's that have been released, either through Betas or their first months of release (AC, AC2, DAoC, AO, PS, Neocron, TSO), most had merits, others didn't.
I play an Architect on Ahazi. Almost Master, just need to finish up two more Construction boxes. I did not play in the Beta, so any bugs or issues that may be dated "Beta" era, I don't know about.
I drafted the State of the Architect about two weeks after release and posted it a week later on the Official Boards. Yes, it does deal mostly with Furniture. No, I am not just going to focus on Furniture during my time as Correspondent.
Below is the possible format I am considering for the Weekly Reports.
Issue 1 - Buildings Related
Issue 2 - Installations Related
Issue 3 - Furniture Related
Issue 4 - General
Issue 5 - Wild Card
I already have a general idea of what will be sent this week. If I feel it necessary I will post it the day before I send it off.
Mitsudo - Ahazi
Takenoko - SWGCraft.com
hi, nice job with your posts so far...
virtually almost all architect bug are hold over from beta... we just seem to be of a low prority
House admin bug(no permission to drop item), hold over from beta
Factory admin/sharing bug, hold over from beta
Experimentation do nothing, hold over from beta
Table top lamp fall on floor, hold over from beta
Lamp give no light, hold over from beta
Factroy eating resources/component hold over from beta.
Structure never finish building? hold over from beta
harvesting mech cannot be build, hold over from beta
factory supposed to always use items inside factory crate in the input hopper but not always true(ie struct modules for wall)? hold over from beta
these are just the one I remember off the top of my head, some of these had been worked on but never completely fixed
Zarcath,
I think that your philosophy is a good one. However, since you are representing the rest of the architects how about you make it a point to post what you think need to be changed. Since, after all, you are representing us. I can say however blitslizer has got most of the points to it.
Congrats on your appointment Zarcath ![]()
From what I've read of your posts in the past and what you posted here it seems that you are very well spoken and that you will do an excellent job for us. And thank you in advance for helping our profession!
Don't forget the complete and utter uselessness of 1/4 of our skill tree.
Changing that tree to allow customization of furniture, and maybe even houses, would be nice....
making deeds miniature versions of the finished product would be a nice touch, on a totally unrelated note. ![]()
Welcome Zarcath,
You will pardon me if I am worried as you say...
But it is because I am in fear that Devs tried to pick a wimp, though that is not necessarily you. (fingers crossed) You do scare me by choosing to make first posts about long-term house sales. Something like that can definitely wait. While important, it should be at the bottom of the list. If you are here to keep the bugs from getting attention, then please go away; I'm tired of paying to play Beta.
Most importantly, please get them to fix all the bugs that afflict us every day.....but here is my comprehensive list. Sorry to those that are also important that I missed.

#1 Architects need about 4 more lots to take into account the need for house, factory, and huge resouces needs.
#2 Make the heaviest harvesters better so they are worth making. The personal and mediums harvesters are about right, but the heavy should give better (lower maintenance) and slightly higher results in KG/HR. (At same time make both medium and heavy harvesters easier to place.)
#3 Furniture skill by all accounts really does increase failure rate, not the other way around. I never had a major failure, and rarely a minor failure til I got furniture skill. Right After I got Furniture III, I had two major failures back to back. Coincidence? I think not!
#4 Maintenance rate bug: Harvesters sporadically charge double maintenance. I have sat and watch for two hours as this happened one time, since I was curious. Many threads attest to this continuing problem. This really harms unaware players in form of extra repair costs.
#5 Factory Hunger. Let us get those resources back that our factory doesn't actually use instead of them disappearing into the void when the factory stops running at end of a production run.
#6 Furniture placement and other interior design issues. This is only low priority because of the bad bugs that come first, but this is one thing I'm sure Zarcath will be an excellent spokesman for. We could use about another 100 schematics in the Furniture line of skills. Curtains, Framed Art, Statues, and other imaginative decors would be much appreciated. A hottub anyone? A Conference table? A mini-bar? Cultural Iconographs?
#7 Admin rights need tweaking.
#8 Long term issues of sales and financing. Repair of deeded (and placed) items might be important here.

Good luck Zarcath. Best wishes.
Welcome and congrats again Zarcath. I, for one, do hope you choose to post at least a summary of what you report to the devs. You are, after all, our representative, and seeing what you are focused onor including at any given point in time will either assure me my concerns are being covered or indicate to me I need to communicate them on the board fordiscussion and possible inclusion at a later time. ![]()

I'd like to add to pokpro's list ...
1.A means of removing extra maintenance & power from a harvester that needs to be moved.
2. An e-mail alert when a harvester stops working because the resource underneath it no longer exists.
Very Good addtions Dacton!
Those would go many miles in direction of helping our overworked and underpaid skills.
Pokpro, #8 on your list is a rather interesting idea. Somewhat like a battle fatigue for redeeded buildings whereeach redeed would reduce harvester efficiency or something similar. Andonly architects couldfix or not be fixable at all and give people a reason to rebuy.
Kudos on the great idea.
