Thread: Placing lamps and plants on top of tables ... how?

I could have sworn I've seen it done before there's a way to stack them onto tables, I'm trying to figure out how it's done, can anyone lend some light onto this?

This can be accomplished only in houses with a second story. Walk up the stairs approximately the height of the table you want the item on. Drop it. Then move it where you need it.

You gotta love gamers, where there's a will, there's a way. This is genius. Not sure why there isn't a /move up/down command, but this is a great temp fix.

Try variations on these commands:

/move forwards 1

/rotate left 90

They let you place furniture however you want (on the floor). On slight annoyance is that you have to stand still for a few seconds before they will work reliably sometimes.

I cannot figure for the life of mewhy there isn't a move left and move right command.

I just wish there was a better way of moving things. You have to fight an item for 30min and you still can't get it where you want it. For example the bookcase that has a 2 ft gap between it and the wall.

I always thought it would be nice to hang stuff on the walls. Now thanks to terrorbeat's genius I think I can

Does anyone know how to place a droid in a house?

That explaination is easy, lazy programers or ignorate business types with unrealist deadlines. Pick one or both. Same reason things can't be moved up or down.

Would also be nice if objects didn't revert to defalt drop orientation when you moved them.

Talking with my wife, she came up with a pretty decient idea.

  • Target a table

  • In your inventory, use the radial menu to select "Use" on the lamp, plant, etc.

  • The lamp appears on the table and can then be adjusted for position.

Kind of like a power up for your table. If tailorscould make couch/chair covers or pillows, use them the same way.

(My wife is a tailor, BTW...)

Bump, only because the thread has such a nice idea from terrorbeat that many people will not know about.

Too bad it only works in multilevel buildings.
