Thread: Architect Shop: For Architects, good Idea/bad idea?
Would a store like that get a regular consumer base?
What would be the sell point, 2c/r or can you think more can be handled?
Just fielding ideas..

I've thought of doing this in the past as well - I know other artisans are willing to buy factory crates. The bane of my existence is crates of turbine engines. I'd probably be willing to purchase those in crate form - just to save myself the hassle of hunting down their required resources (it's our singular item that requires such a wide flavor of different resources).
I'm just adding to the original topic, but if your a Master Artisan as well, throw some products from that line up in crates as well.
I'm probably one of the few that doesn't have the Master Artisan skill, but you would be amazed at how many of these products are actually needed, and not just by Arch. In particular for DE, you need identical items from Master Artisan, so crates would definately be the way to go here.
The reason I'll never have Master Artisan, is the fact it takes an extra three additional tree's in a base level profession, that I don't absolutely "Need" for my chosen crafting professions. Since we are talking about a significant number of Skill points here, I would find it very hard to believe I'm the only one who took this route, so I'm fairly sure these items would sell.

I would be interested in purchasing crates - especially of turbines! I will be honest - it would make life great for me, especially if you are only charging 2cr/u, but you must really want to open a shop if you are willing to sell components at that rate when you can straight out sell your raw resources for more. Take into account the time you will need to run a shop. I have found that is is much more time consuming to run one than I thought. It is getting to be more work than fun. I can understand why so many shop venders are found next (or completely) empty. On the other hand, I am much more financially stable and will retire from vender sales soon which will allow me to actually have some fun fighting in battles and such.
Well I was taking opinions of others for the credit ratio. Kauri is a very odd server in that it seems to have a much cooler market than other servers. I get scoffed at for selling a large harvie for 82k.
I had a great furntiure store that sold for my own equation.. now I don't think that store would do as well as it did a month or so ago..
What troll flagged this thread with a one star? How was I offensive in my query for opinions?
So far it looks like generators would be a big seller.. Unfortunatly I sold out my master artisan so I could be Master Archtect, Master Merchant, Pistoleer. I figure'd I could get someone in my guild to give me schematics for runs of the components I'm missing (Power Core's namely).
Anyhow, still taking thoughts.

I had the same idea, actually. I sell factory produced parts for other architects in my shop. Generator turbines go for 6k a pop. Everything on my vendor is matched, meaning that you can safely buy anything with the same name and it will have the same serial number. If something in a particular run get low in stock, I do another run, pull the old stock for personal use and put up the new stuff.
I think selling at 4cr for these pieces is not unreasonable, especially since there's manufacturing mechanisms there as well (which take the gen turbines as subcomponents). These are factory produced items which means I took a hit on the schematic item, as well as the factory placement/redeed and power for runtime.
Business is a bit slow, but I think this is mostly because people don't know about my shop. I figured I'd give it a bit longer before throwing in the towel on it or simply just leave it there and allow people to buy what they need if they DO needit and I can pull from the stock if I need it. I know of at least one other architect who buys things from me occasionally though.
