Thread: WHAT IS THE PROBLEM WITH YOU ARCHITECTS?
We buy harvesters from you at a rediculous price. Then we sell our small harvesters at a loss to buy mediums for a much higher price. Then we sell our mediums at a loss to buy heavies. Then you say " I need some ore". So we take our harvesters off of steel and move them to an ore site at a cost of 2 days maintenance for each one. When we finally harvest enough ore for you, you only want to pay a pitiful amount for it, sometimes not even enough to cover the cost of moving them. Give me a friggin' break!!!!
I love it, I always said the drop in prices will hit the miners next.... looks like it has.
The answer is to join the community to help the player economy, a recuring need for houses and equipment would breath life back into the class. Decay would help you, even though it sounds like it wouldnt.
Let's see, if you bought a car in real life would you get the full purchase price when you went to an SUV? Would you get the full price returned when you bought a Hummer?
The problem with that analogy is of course, there is no decay on harvestors like there would be on cars, but as the money supply increases, as more Architects are introduced to the game, the prices will drop. A computer bought in 1995 couldn't even be given away today with the proliferation of new ones - and it's the same within the game.
I've seen prices range from 100 to 1000 for personal harvestors, and expect a similarily stupid range on Mediums and Harvestors. You just have to look for them.
Finally - if an architect tells you they want ore - lock in a price that covers your expected costs including profit, I haven't met many architects who would welch on a contract as such. Unless you take steps to protect your work - well - you get what you deserve.
