Thread: Please add decimals to extraction rates.
Why? It'd help architects differentiate themselves from their fellow architects (the whole reason architects begged and pleaded for month that experimentation mean something).
Why? It would largely close the gap between masters stuck at base +55 experimentation and architects with a skill tape to put them at +60 experimentation which I've seen people claimto be all that's needed to currently make 11kg/hr heavies and 8kg/hr mediums. This is because of how the rounding appears to work...
These figures are approximate. I know that 75%+ givesa +4 extraction bonus but am not sure if that's the minimum experimental value needed to hit +4.
0% (crit fail) = base extraction I think
0.1%-25.0% = +1 bonus currently but with decimals would range from +0.01 to +1.00
25.1%-50.% = +2 bonus currently but with decimals would range from +1.01 to +2.00
50.1%-75% = +3 bonus currently but with decimals would range from +2.01 to +3.00
75.1%-100% = +4 bonus currently but with decimals would range from +3.01 to +4.00
Because of the rounding the architects without skill tapes are probably further behind the SkillTapers I'm guessing than they really should be. Top end experimental value for a basic master is in the65-68% range using great materials it appears. This would likely be about a +2.70 extraction bonus or about there if they used decimals rather than rounding up. Meanwhile some lucky guy with a small +5 skill tape is burning lots of resources to make schematics with amazing successes so he can barely hit 75.1%+ and get a +3.01 extraction bonus which currently just gets rounded up to +4. Instead of being only about .3 or .4 extraction behind they're now a full point behind.
Sadly, it appears none of this will matter in a month or so when the Devs plan to throw Architect back into the stone age by boosting us to +100 experimentation in a silly system where you only need 75% to hit the max bonus. Without decimals on extraction this boost to +100 experimentation will be the worst patch ever for Architects as it essentially will remove any differences from any master architects because some goober with average resources will make a harvester every bit as good as someone who saves up only 990+ stat resources. We begged, pleaded, and screamed for experimentation to matter but it won't matter at all if they don't make extraction bonuses read to the decimal.
it reallly cracks me up.... not just with this thread, but people complained and complained and said how experimentation would save the architecture world and be the difference in keeping things fresh and fun. Then when it goes in, its not enough and you get posts, like this one, saying no, you didn't listen close enough we need more experimentation options to save things....
