Hmmm....ok, I'll admit I didn't pay a lot of attention to this promised experimentation but I tried a couple of items today, a large moisture vaporator and a large flora. Nowhere was I able to experiment on the extraction rate, only the capacity. Getting suckered into experimenting instead of just hiting the macro to make it cost me a large flora to a crit as well. Is this something you can only do with mineral or did I miss something?

You have to experiment the extraction component to improve the extraction. For mineral miners that would be the ore mining unit (or light ore mining unit). For other items it ould be the harvesting mechanism and fluidic drilling pumps, I believe. The final combine of the deed lets you experiment just the hopper size.

Since I typically play on TC and we have a few different things (and are probably down for the weekend) I was hoping to suggest to someone else to try expirementing ALL subcomponents on harvesters. I noticed in a batch of 5 harvesters, the first 2 using all slightly older structure modules, storage, etc.. that were made with good quality resources, came out as 8kg/h. The next 3 using new subcomponents that were lesser grade came out 7kg/h. All 5 used the same factory run of ore mining heads, so I think ALL subcomponents help make the new rates. If anyone on another server has mixed resources and time to try expirementing I'd love to see if I am right.
