Ahhhhh....the age old question...what is the proper pricing? Its whatever you think is fair. You can please some of the people some of the time but you cannot please all of the people all of the time. Be prepared to have people say your too expensive and others say "thats it?" wow ill take 20. Just a piece of advice.

/agree Ropock, she did hit the nail on the head.

I only offer my pricing as what I sell, you're welcome to use it as a guideline, not use it at all, or just make up your own scheme. I made up mine, and some say I price a little high. But I do sell items. SOmetimes more than I can make in a day (due to time not resources). But hey... I do make some money, it's enough to remain in business, that's enough for me.

its what ever price alows you to stil have a little safety stock at the end of the day. You must also price it in order to cover your Fixed and Variable costs as well as your period costs (non manufacturing costs such as maintenace on your harvestors).

In other works, its best to charge a little more then a little less, after a few weeks it will make a big diffirence.

The market is always changing, but here's what it was like recently on Gorath. Mostly things can be priced according to credits-per-unit of resources.

Housing: Prices are very poor - 2.5 to 3 cpu. I just don't build houses any more.

Furniture: Prices are good, but this is labor intensive. 5-10 cpu, depending. Stuff that uses wooly hides commands a good price. Good margins for small operators.

Big Stuff - PA Halls, large houses. Not many people want this stuff these days. 3.5-4.5 cpu.

Installations - This is totally in flux. Heavy harvesters are where the money is. That's been true for a while. Right now, I'm selling BER 7 medium minerals for 30k, BER-10 heavies and BER-16 Fusions for 150k, BER-11 heavies and BER-17 fusions for 200k. Prices for heavies used to be 100-125k, so things are looking up.

Crafting Stations: Best prices by far, but very hard to make. 20k for a crafting station near 40 is reasonable.

I charge 4cru on everything and normally have no problems selling out. In fact I will sell enought that I have to make myself unsearchable on most days to keep from getting too many orders. I tend to not take any orders that I cannot deliver by the end of the day, just my way of doing business. As others have stated you probably need to look around your server and find out what the averages are for it. Oh and be mighty prepared to get yelled at. It is a good day when I am not told that i am too high on pricing. The only pricing that I feel I am high on is PA halls. I charge 500k for Generic and 400k for Planetary specific. Yup High for my server and a lot of others, but I really don't care if I sell them, so my price is fixed. I have sold a couple at those prices though ..Good Luck and welcome to the club

Im tring to refine my tool, atm its abit crude and non user friendly but im going for function before i go for form.

but basically change power input to 100 and maint to what ever they are on a daily/hourly basis. (i know i need to change this)

you put in the TOTAL amount of resouces used, well use a heavy harvestor for example, its 27770, since thats how many it takes to make, well say we made all the sub combines by factory and the final assembly by hand, since this takes 3 hours to complete a run of 100 we are going to say that 3 sets of subcombines ='s 12 hours.

Assumeing that you paid 3cpu the total cost to 83310, which goes in the Total cost of resouces used box, since you only made one item you set the total items made and the crate formate to 1

hit calculate and this is what my calc says the heavys cost to make: 85,136, this assumes you bought all your resouces at 3cpu and built the final factory by hand.

wait theres more, the coloums on the left of this tool are two diffrent priceing methods and 5 varibles for each you can set, either A a strait % to cost per item or B a strait + to cost per item.

I made this tool for priceing out crated tents, im still unsure though if the servers still charge your factorys matinace or not for the hour that the servers are down.

i still need to play with it a bit, but basically it really does take into account every number, its not design'd for individual items made by hand since you can price that out your self.

a note though, any one willing to test out this tool above is more than welcome to submit meany feedback they have. btw you dont have to have exact numbers for large items like this, you can put in 30k for the total amount of resouces and 85k for the total amount paid, so you can take into account the price of the whole lot of resouces you purchased and the total amount you paid, for instance. Lets say that you purchased a lot of 100k resouces that you need to build heavys we will say again you paid a rate of 3cpu, and you want to sell 3 heavys and have them shoulder the cost of all your resouces and be left with some stock resouces when your done.

so we will put 100000 in the box for total resouces used, and 300000 for the total cost of the resouces used, crate formate is 1 and total items made is 3, since you already calculated the maint of the last example, you did follow along with the example didn't you? im just kidding, you dont have to change the power and maint. for the factory info. we hit calc and wait for the numbers it reports back that each heavy with factory time at 12hours(since all the subcombines are made in lots of 100, usally) costs 106k, at 33% that comes out to 133k a heavy, very close to the number i see posted.

well i hope some one sees this and test it out, its a little are to get the hang of cause i dont attach a style sheet to my cgi code. i belive in function over form mostly.
