Thread: Mining unit question

After doing some research I tested out making some mining units w/ quality steel, and gas or whatever with ---- all the way across the line, to make the 13ber heavies.

they pulled 94% w/ a ber of 3 on each. Went ahead and sucked it up, even though it didn't sound right, and made a schm of 2.

put them in the harvie schm, and filled my exp box. 10! drat! ok, not worth doing to anymore of these...

As a 12 pt archi, I naturally put my last 2 skill points into the hopper, and magically to my surprise, it wasn't the hopper increase that caught my eye, but the 3 point jump up to ber13!!!

I'm just curious...Why?

Good, great and amazing's have effects on those aspects thatyou're not even experimenting on?

makes no sense to me, but I thought maybe somebody out there might know why.

ARe you aware of the current bug with the display of stats during experimentation? That sounds like what you're seeing.

With the last patch, during experimentation the stats for the item are not being updated properly. So if you experimented your mining parts and it only showed BER3 then in actuallity it was probably at BER 6 but the display had not changed from 3 to 6. Same thing with your harvester experimentation. If you ALT back and forth then eventually the display should update, but its not always 100% and can take a bunch of times.

THey are fixing the bug in the next patch.

The only thing I've seen this bug affect was the color-status bar beside the individual component resource, and the loading on the individual required stats for resources. I have yet to see any update issue with ber on the individual components, or the ber and hopper on the finished products.

As 12 pt arch, 12 pt art, and 12 de, I have still been crafting quite a bit since these publishes went live, and this is the 1st I've seen on that being an issue if this actually the case.

Besides, as I've read in everything else listed under archi, "ber on component does not matter, only the percentage" so I'm just wondering wth was up with that massive jump from 10 to 13 when not even experimenting on it...

thoughts? suggestions? I'm here all night folks

The bug directly affects the displayed stat of the item during crafting. So if I experiment normally my BER does not go up at all in the display. Thatsis the primary negative problem with the bug. You're essentially flying blind while doing experimentation. It does update sometimes but not normally. If you toggle back and forth using ALT that will eventually trigger it to update.
