Structure points are covered in the FAQ. In short structure experimentation is really only good for larger hopper size. Structure comlexity is useless. Artisan points don't help architect stuff.
Only the structure complexity is actually bugged. Structure experimentation works fine but just doesn't do much. Artisan is useful for other things (artisan food and powerups) but just not useful for architects.

The points are used on the extraction rate yes. But with the standard 10 points of a master you can easily max out extraction rate when using good materials with points to spare. So more points above 10 will really 7/1just end up in the hopper size. 12 points won't give you a better BER than what you can get with 10 points.

That sounds reasonable. Remember the extra points can pay off if you have a crit fail. You might be able to recover a heavy mineral to ber 11 or ber 12 which at least will sell for 20k on the bizaar. Not a total loss then, probably pay for the materials.
The points will still be expensive because they are rare and people still want them. They're a status symbol too.
Prices vary a lot server to server as well.
You say its easy to get BER13 with good materials?
I use very good materials, and all subcomponets maxed, and I don't always get BER13s
I'm an 11 pt architect and a Mon Cal....
Am I just that crummy or what?
