Can anybody tell me how to fugure out the break-even point on a heavy harvestor? What I mean specifically is this. As an example I have a heavy harvestor that is BER 13 and is on a concentration of 34% ore with an Actual Rate of 4.53 KG/H. Can I figure out what it would cost me to mine it in terms of CPU? At what point would it be cheaper to just go and buy it on the bizaar for 3 CPU or something like that?

There is a harvester calculator on the SWGcraft site.
Heavies use 2160 credits and 1800 power. If you figure 1 cpu for power thats 4960 / day cost to operate.
If you use that as your cost, then about 13% is the break even at 2 cpu. Thats a rough estimate and doesn't consider redeed costs.

Remember your time costs as well. It's going to take less time to buy it but it'll take longer to recoup the loss of credits.

Yeah thats true. What is your time worth? And how long does it take to do the mining?
Say for example you take 2 hours a week to survey and tend your harvesters. ON the other hand in 2 hours you can make 250k credits doing some other fun activity.

Thanks, that's very useful information. I have 30 static (traded) heavies down and at 13% as a break-even point that gives me a lot of latitude. I was even concerned about 30% so I guess I'm ok. Thanks again guys.

If you have the merchant maintenance modifier, you'll have to include that to your calculation, a merchant x4xx has 20% off on the hourly maintenance cost. This is really good because in the long run (a month), I save about 150.000 in maintenance
A heavy costs 72 Cr per hour instead of the default 90, it makes sense to me at least
