i have been trying to get storage mods into a shcem and i cant do it...

i spent almost 30k in steel to do it and they ill not work in a crate or outta a crate.. is this just another darn bug or what????

First of all What type of harvester are you trying to make? Mediums only require 1 Small storage module. Also make sure you have the right type of storage module because there are 2 kinds: Small Strutural Storage and Strutural Storage

Well if you can’t make a schematic you need to check a few things.
1. Are you using a specialized tool? Structure and Furniture Crafting tool (at least that what I believe its called) is what you’ll need, a general crafting tool won’t work.
2. Are you standing near a Structure Crafting station? You need to be near one of these to be able to do any experiments and to create a schematic.
If 1 and 2 are true, you may to far away form the crafting stations and will wont to move closer.

Also once you have the schematic you will need to take it to a factory and run your schematic and materials throw it in order to get any out put.
