I just made Novice Architiect last night and havea question:

The schematic for a Small House requires 10 SIMILAR Structural Module Items. Does this mean they have to be produced by a factory, or can I make them myself, just using the same resources in each?

I just recently made architect too, and to answer your question. You can make them by hand, and NO factory is required. I've made a few houses already this way. I don't even think you need to have the same resources.

Similar, means no factory is required. Only when the schematic says identical does it require factory produced items (typically large harvesters and large houses).

Well not entirly true either.Only when it says produced from a fac crate.Identical can also be crafted by hand.

I do not believe identical can be crafted by hand.... you sure about that?

Similar = same name
Identical = same serial number

You can not create identical items without using a factory.

You can replace the word similar with random if you like. 6 random walls will work. I think the word similar is a leftover from the early development days when they were going to diferientate hand made items of the same materials with hand made items of different materials. But they gave up on that idea.

No i believe Similar means you need to have them made by the same person. Identical is from a crate though.

Just in case you werent aware, personal extractors are now experimentable to BER 4. Id recommend finding some decent resources to make yourself a fleet of those to bring in your resources until you can build decent mediums.

Zall, why don't you just ask Lopa? She's the MA of your guild. Preipade's (MA) house is also just to the right of your guild hall. I'm sure either of them would be on. I've seen your house right behind the guild hall, so ya know where they are. =)
